Lucinda
"Also... I forgot to mention... there's a giant infected spider down there."
"WHAT?!"
Kona laughed nervously at the others' reaction. "Yeah... that's why I keep the door locked all the time," he added before clasping his hands together. "I'd really appreciate if you'd get rid of it for me." Mimi ran up to the klipspringer and grabbed his shirt before shaking him. "Why didn't you tell us earlier?!" She screamed in his face. The sight was somewhat funny to see. "I'm sorry, Mimi! It had completely slipped my mind!" Kona responded as his friend continued to shake him vigorously.
"I'll take care of it."
Talk about thinking before speaking.
Kona forced himself out of Mimi's grip before running up to me and bending down to my height while keeping his hands clasped together. "Oh, thank you so much, Lucinda! This really means a lot to me!" I crossed my arms and nodded it in response. "Don't mention it. It's not like it's anything I can't handle. After all, I've seen way worse," I replied while patting down my bloodstained clothes. Kona blinked at me before nodding in understanding.
I then turned to Robby, who was standing on the side the entire time. "Come on, Robby," I said while tilting my head to the door and walking over to it. "We've got a pest problem to deal with." Robby nodded at me before following me over. Luckily, the door to the lab was out of earshot from the others, so I hoped to be able to trust Robby with my secrets. Before entering through the door, Robby held an arm out in front of me.
"We will go downstairs first and clear the path for the rest of the group," he explained as his blue eyes turned to my figure. I nodded at Robby before he lowered his arm. "Sounds good... we'd better be careful down there," I replied. I knew better than to get cocky about things, especially at a dark time such as this. With that thought in my head, I made my way into the lab with Robby following close behind. The environment around us was small, but it wasn't unnatural for an engineer such as one of Kona's caliber.
"This is quite a big lab for a single person..." I muttered to myself while lifting a finger to my chin. Everything seemed normal to me. There were tons of file cabinets and science equipment scattered around the place, and there was a door with an orange lock at the end of the hall. Fortunately, there was also a door that had no lock on it. That was probably where I needed to go. I raised an eyebrow before walking over to the door and opening it. What waited for me on the other side made me gasp.
The area must've had split personalities because while the area I was in was filled to the brim with nothing but science stuff, the area on the other side of the door seemed old and medieval like a temple. Did Kona dig into this place and left it as it was? "What the heck...?" I muttered under my breath. The engineer must've struck gold with this finding. I couldn't allow myself to get distracted, though. That had happened way to many times already, and the prices were grave.
"Also, I forgot to mention there may be traps laying around," Robby calmly added from behind me. My eye widened at his statement, and I turned to him faster than I had ever done before. "You're telling me this now?!" I exclaimed. Shortly after, I let out a sigh. "You know what? Whatever... let's just get this over with." With that, I walked passed the door and into the temple. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelt disgusting. To make things worse, there were flies and roaches everywhere. However, there were less of then here than there were back at the sewers. That was a nightmare.
Despite all of that, I had the feeling that this would be worse than back then.
