*Yamayama on a study date*

Kageyama: Hey, Dashi, can you help me with this question please?

Yamaguchi: Sure, Tobs.

*Yamaguchi explains the question*

Yamaguchi: Do you understand the problem now that i've explained it to you for 15 minutes?

Kageyama: Yes.

Yamaguchi: Are you lying to me?

*Kageyama, pouting*: Yes.

Kageyama: I just can't remember which disaccharide is made with which monosaccharide.

Yamaguchi: Let me explain it to you again, then. Only because you want to learn, of course. Not because you're cute and shit when you understand things and do that thing where you smile with your eyes so you can barely see them and if it's at a specific lighting, it looks like you light up in a way that looked like you were handcrafted by god.

Kageyama: Yamaguchi are you... in love with me?

Yamaguchi: Babe. We've been dating for a year and half.

*Kageyama, smiling slightly*: I still can't believe I bagged you. Nevermind. Do you have a special way of remembering them?

Yamaguchi: I do, actually. So, as you may already know, every disaccharide contains at least one glucose.

Kageyama: Yup.

Yamaguchi: So, 2 glucose molecules make one maltose, and water but that's not important right now. Maltose starts with "M", and m has 2 upper triangles which are the same, which is how I remember that there will be 2 glucoses.

Kageyama: That makes... sense...

Yamaguchi: Yeah. Up next, we have sucrose, which is made up of one glucose and one fructose. Fructose is the sweetest monosaccharide, if you recall. So, what is the sweetest thing? Sugar. And that leads us to sucrose. Sucrose is also known as the table sugar, by the way.

Kageyama: So... we add sucrose to our coffees?

Yamaguchi: Exactly!

Kageyama: Oh. Ok.

Yamaguchi: Lastly, we have lactose. Which is composed of galactose and glucose. Galactose is similar to lactose. So I just remember it by that. (those are how I remember carbohydrates lmao)

*Kageyama, with his eyes shining in understanding*: I don't think I'll mix them up anymore.

*Yamaguchi, smiling*: There's the shine I love.
