Chapter 24__ Let's go out

Harley noticed the man is unlike himself today. Unlike other days, he just drove silently without saying anything to her.
"Harley, you need to answer my question", he began, he looks grim.
" Ask"
"What our parents did, is just matchmaking. I should have asked this earlier. Do you want to go out with me like our parents are suggesting or do you want to break the merger?", Harry asked pulling over.
" Why are you asking this? We will be late to the banquet. Let's go.", Harley told him.
"Harley, answer me."
"I'm not against the merger. Do I look like I'm against it or something?", she asked.
Harry bits his lips.
" So we are formally in a relationship. Don't you think you are not allowed to see other guys?", he asked her.
"Other guys?", she asked.
" Yes. Do you want to deny it?", he asked her.
"Harry, I'm not seeing any guy", Harley said.
" Yes, you are. Who is the guy you met the other day. That guy you ate dinner with?", Harry asked.
Harley scoffed.
"You must be silly. Are you asking people to watch me?", She sigh.
" For your information, that guy is my best friend and he is married. His wife is our friend too. The three of us used to be best friend. Even though I've had a crush on him before, I'm over it now. We just ate dinner and discuss business. I'm disappointed in you ", The lady said.
She opened the door and get out of the car.
Harry sigh.
He shouldn't have done that but he wanted to clear things. If he didn't asked her, he would not be able to stop thinking about it. That's why he decided to talk about it.

Ashley got out from shower and checked her phone.
No missed call yet.
She is expecting Douglas call. Her boyfriend will call her in the morning to say good morning. In the afternoon during lunch break and in the night before sleeping.
She was drying her hair when the phone rang.
She hurriedly picked the call.

Toby walked out of the studio and walked to where the belles are rehearsing.
He saw that she is there.
He walk to her.
" Let's go out, Victoria", he said.
The belles awnned.
"I will take care of you don't worry. Just be my girlfriend."

Vickey cheeks are still pink. She was so embarrassed.
"It's not even a proposal, why do you do it where people are watching? Can't you learn to be low key?"
"Sorry", he said.
Vickey rolled her eyes.
" Why are you sorry?.", she sigh.
"Let's see a movie", she added.
" We should do something on our first day as couples.", She said.
"Shall we?", Toby asked smiling.

Harriet and Edmund decided to go on a stroll around the restaurant they ate dinner before going home.
" The dinner is so good. Let's come back here some other time.", Harriet told him.
"Okay", Edmund replied.
" I want Ice- cream", Harriet said pointing to the ice- cream stand not to far away.
"Who will line up for that? I don't", Edmund asked.
"But I want that", Harriet insisted.
Edmund went still. It is like the world just stop. Like the clock stop tickling.
" What....", Harriet stop when she followed his gaze and saw her.
A lady in a white dress was standing there. She looked like a fairy.
Harriet felt threatened. Women as pretty as Harriet hardly felt that way_but this lady is pretty.
Harriet looked at the lady very well.She used to be a model.
Harriet wondered who she is to Edmund. She felt that she didn't need to wonder.
She is either his Ex or his first love. The world that just stop seems to be spinning again when the lady took steps towards them. The lady in white was smiling.
"Long time, no see", She said.
" hmm", was Ed response.
Harriet wondered what the history between them is.
The lady gaze fell on Harriet.
"Who?", She asked.
" I'm Harriet", Harriet introduced. The lady ignored her and turned to Edmund.
"Is she your girlfriend?", She asked.
Edmund look at Harriet and then the lady.
" yeah", was his response this time around.
He turned to her.
" Harriet, can you leave first?", he asked her.
Harriet could not really explain her feelings right now. Perhaps, AWFUL.
Harriet did not know why she is feeling this way. She is nothing to him anyway. Even though he just call her his girlfriend, Harriet know that the woman in white is more important than she is.
"Ok", Harriet said and walk away almost breaking into a run.

She entered the bar and ordered beer.
She gulped down three bottle in few minutes.
She is so sad. Why? She don't know. She is finally over her Ex and her mind is finally clear about what she wants and did not. And now, the man she wants is seeing his Ex again.
Edmund looked flustered earlier. What if he go back to his Ex. That woman in white is beautiful and alluring.
"Can a get a bottle of Vodka pls?", She ordered.
" Why are you drinking? ", She heard the familiar voice.
She ignored him.
" Let's go", he told her.
"Who are you to tell me to go and to not?", Harriet asked him.
" Aren't you with your first love?", She asked him.
"She is no more my first love but the woman who broke my heart and with that he dropped cash on the counter. He came back and pick her up.
" Your change...."
"Keep it", and he walk out of the bar.
" Let go of me", Harriet said struggling and hitting him.
He finally drop her.
"Do you think you can play with my heart?", she asked.
" I didn't play with your heart, Harriet."
"Then why did you call me your girlfriend and still tell me to leave for ...."
She couldn't continue not because she didn't want to or has no more words to say but because she was kissed.
Harriet didn't want to open up but he was very domineering. She gave him room and he explored her mouth with his tongue. She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him back.
He stopped still holding her chin and looking into her eyes.
"We didn't break up before she left. I wanted to clear things with her", Edmund explained.
