Ray is in love!

Chapter 38__I've never being your suitor!

Ray didn't want to go back to the house but he had to go. His mother had called him earlier and asked him to come home for dinner.
When he got to the house he saw a woman shoe outside and he knew Ava is around. No wonder they asked him to come home. No wonder they asked him to come home. Ray is getting frustrated. When will they stop getting involve in his life, uhn? He take a deep breathe before entering the house.
"Young master is home",  The butler announced.
" Ray is home", His mother said and beckoned to him.
"Come on. Ava is here"
"You didn't mention that she will be here",  Ray said taking his seat.
He wouldn't blame his parents,  they married for business sake too and it worked out for them. They learn to care for each other and tolerate the other partner but they need to understand that he is not interested in arranged marriage.
" It skipped my mind", Mrs Dalton said.
It didn't skip her mind. Ava told her not to tell Ray that she will be around.
Ray knew his mum his lying.
"Did it?",  he asked.
Mrs Dalton smiled.
" I'm not obligated to tell you, Am I?", she asked.
Ray sigh. He won't argue with them.
"The twin father sent me an invitation to his daughter marriage",  Mr Dalton began.
" Awnnn. Little Harriet is getting married already. When is it that she was such a crybaby? Children grow so fast."
"I heard Harry is engaged to one of his dad business partner daughter. Business related relationship is still the best in our circle. A gentleman should marry a prim and proper woman of virtue.",  Mrs Dalton said.
" Can a woman of virtue only come from a wealthy family? Isn't that a wrong and discriminating assumption? Is it all wealthy heirs that are gentlemen? I doubt that.", Ray said.
"I'm not even a gentleman my self. Don't forget, I'm once a popstar.",  he added.
The expression of the three people in the room is awful.
" What are you talking about?", his mother asked.
"Are you thinking of going back to be a singer? You shameless son!",  Ray father asked.
Then he turned to his wife.
" This is all your fault", he said.
Mrs Dalton kept quiet. It's probably all her fault like her husband had stated. She should not have allowed him to venture into the entertainment industry in the first place. Her husband was actually against it from the start but Mrs Dalton pampered Ray since he is her younger son. He had all her attention and since his elder brother is ready to take over H&D group, She pleaded with her husband to allow Ray to do what he wants. She allowed him to venture into the industry.
"Dad, I never mentioned that I'm going back to the entertainment industry.",  Ray told the man.
" Then what are you implying?",the older man asked. "If you dare go back to that industry,  A lot of people will suffer"
That's what he knows best. Threatening people.Ray sneered.
"You should really stop this dad. Threats? It won't work on me anymore",  Ray said.
" Murray", his mother called his full name.
"What's wrong with you. You're past puberty stage so why are you rebelling now?",  she asked him.
Ray wanted to say something but Ava puts in.
" Dinner is ready.... I think"
The parents and child turn to look at her.
Ava is already getting irritated.
Ray mum sighed. She did not like Ava witnessing everything that is happening but she couldn't stop her husband so she had to exercise her authority in her child even though she is not sure he will listen.
The butler decided to step in to save the awkward situation.
"Dinner is ready",  the butler said.
Mr Dalton cleared his throat.
" Let's eat", he said and stood up making his way to the Diner table.
They all sat down and the maids carefully serve the food. They were aware of the tense situation and none of them want to get his or herself into trouble.
Mr Dalton was seating at the head of the table and Mrs dalton was right beside him in the left, Ray and Ava by the right.
"Ava, you love jelly right?",Mrs Dalton asked.
" Yes , I do", Ava replied.
"It's available for dessert",  Ray mum said.
" Thank you ma", Ava replied.
They started eating. When they finished the main course, the servant bring dessert to the table.
"Uncle",  Ava called.
" Yes, Ava", Mr dalton replied.
"It's new year in two days and I will like it if the two family could eat dinner together",  Ava said.
Mrs Dalton smiled.
" That's a nice Idea,  my dear"
"So thoughtful",  Mr Dalton added.
"I've picked a very nice restaurant. I've also made reservations. I...."
"I hope I'm not included in that dinner?",  Ray asked.
He wondered if Ava is really so shameless. How can she be using his family against him. And the most irritating is that his family are allowing themselves to be used by a younger generation.
" What do you mean, Ray. We are meeting your in laws", His mother said.
"Mum, are you forgetting things. I've already informed you that I'm not getting married to Ava.",  Ray told them.
" You bastard, what are you implying?", his father asked flaring up again.
"You can just have the dinner as family friends. Stop having it in mind that I will marry the constance daughter. I have told her several times that I'm not.."
His phone beeped. It is a message from Ava."Interested in her. I don't even like her. She is not my style and I don't want to have children from her. I can't stand her presence...."
"Ray",  his mother cuts in.
He read Ava message.
Ava_keep quiet or I will tell him about Dorris.
" Uncle,.."Ava was saying when Ray cut in.
"Dad, I have someone else I'm in love with. If you want me to get married,  it will either be her or no one",  Ray said.
Ava went pale. She didn't believe he will really tell his father himself.
" What are you saying,  Ray?", his father asked gritting his teeth. He is very angry.
"I'm saying you should stop forcing your choice on me",  Ray said.
His father threw the dessert Fork at him and he dodge it.
" Calm down", Mrs Dalton was telling her husband.
Ava burst to tears adding to the tension.
"I'm so embarrassed. When I have so many suitors yet I'm being treated like this. This isn't fair",  She said in tears.
Ray scoffed.
She is so irritating.
Such a manipulative woman.
"To make it fair is your choice. Go to your other suitors. I've never being your suitor!",  he told her harshly.
He knew he is mean but he will do anything to protect his woman.
