Chapter 37__She is armed with charms

They came out of the restaurant after eating dinner. Guy insisted that he would tell her what he wanted to tell her after dinner. They decided to take a walk.
"I enjoyed dinner, Thanks",  Dorris told him.
" I enjoyed it more because you're present", Guy told her.
Dorris smiled.
"I agree. It is good to eat in the company of others",  she said.
Guy just smiled.
Dorris wanted bim to say whatever it is that he wants to say. Her husband is waiting at home.
Guy suddenly stopped walking.
Dorris stopped walking too and faced him.
" Actually Dorris....",he took several breathes in.
"The thing is..",  he paused.
Then he suddenly blurted" I like you!"
He seems to gain more confidence after saying that.
"I like you so much. I always do. I want you to go out with me, Dorris. I promise to be good to you. I will never treat you wrongly",  he added.
Dorris didn't know what to say.
" Please, Dorris. I know I'm not good enough for you but can you just consider me? If there is anything about me that you don't like, I will change. All I want is for you to be in my life", the guy said.

Ray couldn't hold it in anymore. He came out of his car.
"Are you asking her to two-time me?",  he asked.
Dorris and Guy turned to look at him.
Guy raised his brows.
" Baby, today is Christmas. Yet you jilted me to be with your friend. Do you think this is appropriate?", Ray asked Dorris, sweeping her into his arms.
"It's so cold. Let's go",  Ray told her.
" What is happening here?", Guy asked.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm her boyfriend.",  Ray said.
Guy looked at Dorris.
" I'm really sorry", She told him.
Ray dragged her to the car.
Dorris mouthed an "I'm sorry" to Guy before she entered the car.
"Murray, don't you think you're so mean? You should have allowed me to reject him politely",  Dorris began immediately they enter the car.
Ray started driving.
" Then you should have rejected him time. Were you enjoying it? Have I interrupted at the wrong time?", Ray asked.
"Why are you being sarcastic? I can not just interrupt him and reject him, that's rude. I have to be polite so as not to hurt him so much",  Dorris explained.
" Can you stop talking about him?", Ray asked.
Dorris sigh.
"You're being unreasonable ",  Dorris told him.
" I agree.", Ray said.
"Don't talk to other guys anymore or I will get jealous and do unreasonable things",  He told her.
" You too. You must not see other women too", she  told him.
"Deal",  he said.
Dorris shook her head.
" What do you want to eat?", he asked her.
"I just ate",  she reminded him.
" But I've not!", Ray said.
"Then it is your choice to choose whatever you want to eat Ray",  she  told him.
" You want me to eat alone?", he asked.
"Let's go. I will just order dessert and accompany you",  she told him.
Ray smiled.

Harriet invited Ray to their usual hang out. She wanted to introduce Edmund to him. After all, he is the only friend she had.
" Your friend is a male?", Edmund asked her.
"Yes. He is my brother closest friend too. The three of us uses to be very close before I travelled abroad.",  Harriet explained.
" Your brother will be around too?", Edmund asked.
"Yes. Don't worry. He will not give you a hard time.", Harriet assured.
Edmund scoffed.
"Why will I worry. He is a man like me",  Edmund said.
Harriet smiled.
" That's the spirit", she said.
They entered the private room and Edmund was surprised that Harriet friend is Ray Dalton. They've met each other in banquets and during business events.
"Oh! My brother in law is here",  Harry said.
" Hello", Edmund greeted.
"So you're Harriet Fiance. Nice meeting you. I hope you will be able to cope with marrying a woman like Harriet. She 's so stubborn",  Ray joked.
Harriet swatted his hand.
Edmund smiled.
" I think I'm man enough to cope with her", he said .
"You said so",  Ray said and they laughed.
" I don't know you're her friend she is talking about. I didn't like the fact that she had a male friend", Edmund said.
"It's good to wary. I'm her brother's friend though, not hers. She was my first love"
Harriet swallowed.
Harry widen his eyes.
Edmund raise a brow.
"You don't need to be wary of me. She didn't reciprocated my love and it faded. Now, I have someone else in my life. That lady is an armed robber who stole my heart. She is armed with charms",  Ray added.
" I can imagine how charming she is", Edmund said relaxing.
Ray smiled.
They started drinking and the guys were discussing business. Harriet could only drink juice because of her baby
After a while, Harriet said.
"Who knows I will be the first to get married among us? I'm even expecting my baby. I'm so glad",  Harriet said.
Ray smirked.
'I got married before you though.', he thought. He wished he could brag about it right now but he could not.
"I will get married soon too. Remember,  I have a fiancee", Harry said.
" I thought your fiancee is not reciprocating your feelings?", Ray asked.
"You should not add salt to my wound friend",  Harry said.
Ray laughed.
" I will win her heart, don't worry", Harry swore.
"Are you sure you are capable?",  Ray asked him.
" Of course. I'm not you that will shed tears because of a woman. Your fans need to see you at that moment. Hmph!", Harry said.
"When did I cry? Even if I did, I have the upper hand now. She is completely smitten by my charm",  Ray said.
" Are you sure you're not the one head over heels in love for her?", Harry throw back.
Ray scoffed.
"I will bring ber along the next time we will be meeting. You will see how passionate she is about me. She is so love-struck trust me",  Ray told him.
On the other side, Edmund is asking Harriet.
" Were they usually like this?", he asked.
"Yes. All they do is talk when they get drunk",  she said.
" Can we go now?", she asked him. "I'm sleepy",  she added.
" What about them?", he asked.
Harriet smirked.
"Don't worry about them. They will get their ass home",  she said.
Edmund nodded.
" Let's go home then", he told her.
