Chapter 34__ I will never call you sister again

Ava had been waiting for Ray in the lobby. He had been ignoring her calls and messages. She was angry. Is he trying to dare her. She will really tell his dad. But then, she's afraid that if she informed his dad, she will not have anything to black mail him with.
Soon the executive elevator opened and Ray came out with Jerome.
"Hi Ray",  Ava greeted.
" What are you doing here?", He asked her.
"You've been ignoring my calls, Ray",  she asked.
" I'm busy", he replied.
"Let's go to a cafe",  she told him.
" I'm busy, Ava"
"Just few minutes, please",  Ava said deciding to plead with him.
Ray wanted to decline but he decided to hear her out.

They were served their coffee.
" Ray, you are ignoring me again. Are you taking my words for granted? ", she asked him.
" I've been busy Ava"
"Ray, I missed you so much. Please don't make me do mean things. I really love you. Just go out with me please. Can't you just let go of her? Are you not tired of her yet? What's so special about her? Do you want me to deal with her? Do you want me to make her leave you willingly? Are you testing my patient?", Ava asked.
" Ava, shut up. What's wrong with you", Ray asked her.
"Listen carefully, I don't like you. I will not go out with you anymore. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore. I have no reason to go out with you anymore. Don't come to see me again.
Come to your senses, Ava. I never asked you out so why should I go out with you?",  he asked her.
" But I want you", Ava said tearing up.
"Do not touch my woman, Ava. I'm leaving now",  Ray said and walked out.
Ava clenched her fist.
How dare him walk out on her.
His woman? Did he know the consequences of his action?

Ashley is frustrated. She had complicated feelings. She thought what Douglas felt for her is just infatuation and that it will pass. She had decided to date because she knew that the more she play hard to get, the more he will want her. She decided to date him so that his feelings will fade.
There are several boys like that that likes someone older than them probably because they grew up with that person and ended up being over protective or they admire the lady and wants to possess her. She practically grew up with Douglas and always treated him like a baby brother. She thought he is just lusting over her and that he will get bored and she will gladly let go of him.
Who knew his feelings for her will just get stronger. Who knew she will also fall deeper too. And now, Douglas wants more. He no longer want to date her in private. He wants everyone around to know they are dating but is it really okay? Can she afford to pay for the consequences? What if Dorris feel betrayed and their relationship ended up straining? That will put Douglas in a tough spot because she knew how much he loved his sister. Though Dorris is just two years older than him, she was like a mother figure to him since they lost their mother. Dorris had given up a lot of things for Douglas just like a mum will do for her children. Even Ashley admired Dorris, a friend she is one year older than.
Ashley sigh. Can she afford to risk so much for their relationship? She knew that if Douglas father and sister go against their relationship,  Douglas is going to rebel and the relationship will keep on getting stronger. She didn't want that. She will be a heartless woman if she cause separation in that happy family.
What to do? She likes Douglas so much. She is not going to admit that she love him. Ashley made up her mind. She is going to break up with Douglas. She will just remain his elder sister friend. That is the right decision.

Douglas saw the text message and rushed down to her the park near her place. That's where she wanted them to meet. Douglas saw her already waiting for him.
"We should have just meet in your house. It's cold outside",  Douglas said.
" Let's go", he added.
Ashley did not budge.
Douglas sigh.
"I'm sorry for the other day. Forgive me uhn?",  he told her.
Ashley ignored him. She sat down on a bench nearby.
" Sit down. Let's talk"
Douglas sat down.
"We can just have that talk in your place, It's too cold out here."
"Douglas,  let's call it quit",  Ashley said. This was her decision. It's kinda hurting her but she had to. What will people say about them.
They are going to mock her. She can't gamble on her friendship and social relationship for a guy who might not be sure of his feelings yet. She is going to end this and move on with her life. She is very sure she will get over him soon. She is going to go on blind dates and party on lonely nights. She is going to pretend as if all of this never happened.
" Why?", Douglas asked.
Ashley kept quiet.
"Because you don't want people to know about us?",  he asked.
" Because you're afraid of what people will say about us?Because you're afraid of Sis reaction?", Douglas asked again.
"Should I not worry?",  Ashley asked.
" I thought we are done with this.", Douglas said.
"I'm afraid okay. I can't...."
"Are you always like this, Ashley?",  he asked.
" You're so selfish. Do you even consider my feelings when deciding this. You just came to this decision with only yourself in mind. You like doing things that will only benefit you?", he asked her.
"Stop all this Douglas. Let's stop this nonsensical immature relationship. Let's go back to being brothers and sister",  Ashley said.
Douglas clenched his fist. Without warning,  he drew her in for a kiss. It's so swift that Ashley did not notice not to talk of resisting him.
He kissed her till they were out of breathes.
Ashley could not talk. She hid her face in his chest.
" I will never call you sister again, Ashley", he told her.
Ashley swallowed.
She is already entwined with him, there is no going back. There is no looking back. She had to face this.
