Chapter 28__Why should I?

Dorris scoffed.
It's been two days and he had not called.
That jerk. He is probably going on dates with Ava.
Guy sat down beside her.
"What are you doing this evening? Shall we go out for dinner?", he asked her.
" I lost my appetite", Dorris said.
Vickey came to her.
"What happen? Are you unwell?", she asked.
" I'm fine. I'm just tired. I want to go home, really", she said.
"Your parents?", Vickey asked.
" Yes. Tomorrow is my birthday. I would like to spend it with them", Dorris said.
"You should go", Vickey said.
" No. I am not in a good mood. I will only make them feel concerned", Dorris replied.
"You're missing them but you don't want them to feel concerned about you? It will really take a while for me to understand all this family issues", Vickey said.
Dorris smiled weakly.
Toby came over.
" Babe, I got coffee", he said.
"Are you trying to feed us dog food?", Guy asked Toby.
"Maybe", he said.

Harriet was in Harry's place. She was telling him about Edmund excitedly while he packed his things in a suitcase.
" Are you sure he is not deceiving you? ", Harry asked her.
Harriet kicked him.
"Why will he? He has no reason to. Edmund likes me so much", she said.
" Good Luck then", Harry said.
He checked if everything is in.
"When are you coming back from your business trip?", Harriet asked him.
" It's two weeks", he replied.
"Oh! Make up with Harley before you go", Harriet told him and walk out of his room.
Harry sigh.
How do a man apologize to a woman?

Harley came out of her office wrapped in a beige coat. She had a scarf around her neck.
She saw him.
" You finally came", she said.
Harry licked his lips.
"I'm sorry I took so long to apologise and I'm sorry for how I spoke the other day and also for putting eyes on you", Harry said.
Harley laughed.
"Shall we eat dinner together? Pick a good place please", She told him.
" okay!", Harry said.
"What will you like to eat?", he asked her, opening the car for her.
" Any thing you chose. In as much as it is not sea food.", Harley said.
"Okay", Harry said.
'What a pretty woman. So forgiving'
He should have apologized earlier.

Harriet was with Edmund in a sea food restaurant. They are waiting for their order.
" Did you say you love seafood? You will enjoy it", Edmund told her.
"I've been here several times with mom. She love sea food too", He added.
"Awnn! I have a lot of things in common with your mum"
Edmund raise a brow.
"What else do you have in common with her?", he asked.
" I'm pretty and younger than my age", she said.
Edmund laughed.
"Why are you laughing? Do you think I'm not pretty?", she asked.
" Of course, you're pretty. I'm just laughing because you're so cute", he said.
Harriet smiled.
The waiter brought their food. Immediately Harriet smelled seafood, her body system changed. She rushed to the washroom and Edmund followed her. She threw up.
"What happened?", Edmund asked her.
" I feel strange", She told him.
"Are you sick?", he asked her.
" No. I felt dizzy earlier this morning but I just wave it off", Harriet said.
"Let's go to the hospital", he told her.
" No need I will be fine ", she said.
" You have to listen to me Harriet", Edmund said sternly and Harriet pouted.
She knew there is no point in convincing him.

Dorris smiled dropping her phone. She had been receiving calls since she woke up. They are all greeting her happy birthday.
Her dad, Douglas, Ashley, her mum's sister, a whole lot of people except him.
She had not received a call from the person she was really expecting a birthday wish from.
She's really going to break up with him if he did not call her today.
'That's if he has not broken up with you first', her sub-consciousness said.
Dorris felt hurt. Had he really dumped her for Ava?
Or was he forced by his parents? Did he had no option? Of course, Dorris knew rich family's could be very cruel. She use to see it in dramas. What she didn't know is that there is more to it than in dramas.
No matter what the situation is, she really hoped he will call her today.

Ray had been busy for the past three days. He had so many things to do in the office, so many meetings to attend and so many video conference to do. He really wish his brother is still alive. Ray felt suffocated adjusting to this routines. It is taking a toll on him.
"Can you get me Rape flowers? ", He asked Jerome.
" I need it tonight", he added.
He knew it is Dorris birthday. He should have called her but he was afraid she's still angry and will not pick up. He decided to text her.

The text message changed Dorris mood for better.
Murray__Babe, I'm coming over to see you tonight.
I'm sorry for the other day.
I should have come over but I've been so busy.
See you later
Dorris became energetic again.
She started cleaning her room. She sprayed air freshener in her room. She even dress herself up.
Immediately she heard the knock. She checked herself again in the mirror. Satisfied with herself, she opened the door.
She smiled when she saw him.
"Welcome", She said stepping aside so that he could come inside.
" Happy birthday, Dorris", he said and drew her in for a hug. "I misses you", he said.
" Me too", she muttered.
He released her from the hug and gave her the flowers.
He also gave her a key.
"For?", she asked.
" A car", he said.
"Car?", she asked him dumb founded.
" why will you get me a car?", she asked.
"Don't worry, I will enroll you in a driving school. You will learn it within a month", he told her.
That's not what she meant!
" One more thing", he said.
"What's is that?", she asked.
" Marry me", he said and brought open a box. The ring is so shining.
Dorris swallowed.
He said it again
"Dorris please",he added.
" Why should I?", She asked after a lot of silence.
