Chapter 8 - Into the Past

The Gala was finally over, and Y/N led Hermione up to her room to get changed, and some well earned rest. The Ravenclaw sighs as she opens the door to her room and Hermione steps inside. The bushy-haired girl looks around taking the place in.

The room was much bigger than Hermione's with a queen-sized bed against the wall with two nightstands on either side with a few books on one side. The room was quite warm with a few types of vinyl records on display and a record player on a set of draws. A mirror hangs above the draws as well as a few quidditch posters and an electric blue and purple guitar with the amp and cable stored below it.

On the other side was a large cabinet with a few photos of her friends with a picture of Y/N and Hermione from the funfair that they went to a week ago. What filled up most of the cabinet was a large collection of CDs and a stereo in the middle. Over by the window is Y/N's desk with is kept neatly with only an unfinished letter out with a black quill next to it.

"Zilpy brought your stuff up," Y/N says "you can get changed in the bathroom"

Hermione turns around and notices the open door that leads to the en-suite bathroom. "Y/N your room is huge"

Y/N stares at the floor embarrassingly "uhh yeah. I guess I haven't really thought about it"

"It's very you though, which I like," Hermione says and Y/N smiles

"Thanks," Y/N says and slips her hand around Hermione's waist "we should get changed"

Hermione nods "can you unzip me"

"Sure" and Hermione turns around whilst Y/N fiddles with the small zip. She finally undoes the zip revealing the Gryffindor girl's soft skin. She places a gentle kiss on the back of her shoulder and she can feel Hermione smile.

"Thank you" she replies and walks into the bathroom leaving Y/N behind much to the Ravenclaw girl's disappointment

"Tease" she mumbles and walks over to the stereo to put some soft music on in the background.

Y/N quickly changed into some sleep shorts and an oversized tank top and layed down on her bed. The door to the bathroom opened and Hermione stepped out dressed in blue shorts and an oversized white shirt. she hopped on the bed and snuggled close to Y/N. The Ravenclaw girl wrapped her arms around Hermione protectively

"Who is this playing," Hermione asks referring to the music

"Mazzy Star" Y/N replies, "I thought you'd might like her"

"It's nice," Hermione says and the two stay in comfortable silence "you and Draco were outside for a while"

Y/N sighs "he wanted to talk"

"About"

"It doesn't matter" Y/N replies and Hermione sits up and looks at Y/N

"How long is it going to take for us to be honest with each other," Hermione says and Y/N sits up and holds Hermione's hand tenderly

"He wanted a second chance. In short, I told him to get lost and he did" Y/N says "He did bring up our childhood and that's what got us talking"

Hermione nods "Can I ask what happened, between you two"

Y/N takes a shaky breath "we were close when we were younger. He was sweet back then, he comforted me when I was upset about my mother and would try to make me laugh. Sometimes I felt like he is the only person that understands me. Sometimes I still think that" Hermione was silent and waited for Y/N to continue. "It was him and I against the world and well, Cal was also there too. We all got up to mischief back then"
