Chapter 40 - The Talk

Hermione is finishing up her prefect duties patrolling the corridors. She hasn't spoken to Y/N at all and to be honest she feels miserable. The Gryffindor hated that they had a fight but most importantly that fact that her girlfriend had lied to her.

The Gryffindor girl put most of her time into her studies and her friends could tell that Hermione wasn't herself. They all tried to make her laugh or even smile, but they knew the only one person could truely make her smile, and that person had betrayed her.

Hermione heads back to the Gryffindor common room but as she does, she sees none other than Y/N turn the corner and stand before her.

"Hermione" Y/N calls calmly and the bushy-haired girl doesn't say a word and Y/N looks at her nervously "could we talk. Please"

The Gryffindor frowns at Y/N but eventually nods and continues to walk with the Ravenclaw following close behind.

Y/N starts to feel like maybe this isn't such a good idea. They walk into Hermione's room both standing at opposite ends. Hermione's arms are crossed and a scowl covers her face. Y/N sighs but manages to hold her head up high.

They stare at each other for a few moments until Y/N slowly makes her way closer to Hermione. She puts on a brave face and shoves her hands in the pockets of her pants. Neither girl making a move any other move to talk.

"So," Hermione spoke, breaking the silence,
"Are you going to apologise, or are you here to waste my time?"

Y/N nods "I understand why you are angry. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said what I said about you that night. I- didn't mean it, not a single word of it"

Hermione taking a few steps forward "No, Y/N I don't think you do understand," she says bitterly "You should be apologising because you didn't tell me truth."

Y/N slowly starts to step forward too and the couple slowly meet each other in the middle of the room.

"The truth," Y/N says her temper rising "The truth is that I honestly made the blood pact to protect you. To protect my friends" The two were now a few inches apart, standing in the middle of the room with glares and livid expressions.

"Are you serious right now." Hermione scoffs "You failed to tell me about the blood pact you willingly created with Draco. Someone who has practically bullied me for being muggle born since my first year. Bullied me for just existing. You didn't tell me the truth, nor did you go to deny it. Are you starting to understand the impact your actions had on me?"

"Oh, I think I'm starting to," Y/N spat back "You just can't stand the fact Draco and I have a complicated history and I think deep down you're scared that I'll turn on you and end up just like him. Well news flash Granger thats not going to happen. Not if I have a say in it"

Hermione's eyes narrowing at her. "You think you're all tough, huh? Well, I hate to break it to you, but you aren't. You put on this act so you don't have to deal with your feelings. But go on Y/N spit it out, I'm sure you have so much more to say," the bushy-haired girl snaps, the two glaring at each other. Y/N looks at her clearly frustrated.

"I love you, Hermione. Now, let that sink in for moment before you bite my fucking head off. Do you think I would lie to you for over a year about falling for you, force myself to be with you, spend practically everyday around you just to torture myself? No." Y/N says and Hermione breathing starts to calm down and she now gives the Ravenclaw girl some space "despite being so angry at you, I can't help but love you even more. You are everything I want, everything I need and more. Are you starting to get the affect you have over me"
