Chapter 39 - Looking in the Mirror

It's been a day since Y/N and Hermione's fight and the Ravenclaw hasn't spoken to anyone. She hasn't gone to her classes either, just stayed in bed feeling guilty for she has done and said. She never meant to hurt Hermione or her friends but in the end, she knew that the blood pact with Draco would not sit well with them and that is her fault.

Y/N wipes the tears from her eyes and pulls out her journal and begins to write.

Have you ever fucked up so badly that you don't know where to even start apologising. I said some awful things to Hermione, things that I didn't even mean. But I said them and they really hurt her.

She said some things to me too. About how I'm like Draco and maybe she is right. I've spent five years at Hogwarts trying to prove that I'm different from him only to come to the realisation that I haven't changed at all.

Hermione also said that she doesn't recognise me anymore. I don't think I do either? I always thought I could be bad, now I'm sure it's true. I'm not the person I once was or the person I want to be. Hermione is too good to me, maybe even too good for me and I certainly don't deserve her. I'm not gonna lie, I'm in a real mess and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get myself out of this one.

The DA members sit in the great hall and write their lines. It turns out Draco was telling the truth, it was Cho who told Umbridge about the DA which makes sense because she wasn't at the patronus lesson when they all got caught.

The burning sensation hits the back of her hand as the words appear. She looks up to see Hermione with her head down and the Ravenclaw can tell that she is wincing at the pain. All Y/N wanted to do is comfort her but she knows that it wouldn't be welcome.

After detention the group look at Y/N as they walk past. Flo and Callan look furious whilst the others look at her with sympathy in their eyes not knowing what to say. Hermione doesn't even look at her. The Ravenclaw was the last to leave the great hall and when she does she spots Cho sharing the same expression as Y/N.

"Cho" Y/N says and the other Ravenclaw looks at her surprised

"Your actually going to talk to me" Cho asks surprises

Y/N smiles weakly "it wasn't your fault, Umbridge pressured you and used the potion in your tea. Anyone could have told Umbridge about the DA it just happened to be you"

Cho nods "thank you for understanding. So why are you upset"

Y/N sighs "Hermione and I had a really bad fight and I did something bad that betrayed all my friends trust, so none of them are talking to me"

"So I guess something similar to what I did" Cho says and the Ravenclaw smiles

"I guess" Y/N responds "I just know that there is no way out of this, they aren't going to forgive me easily or at all even"

"And how do you know that" Cho asks and Y/N looks at her curiously "if you have the heart to forgive me, then maybe your friends will too"

Y/N smiles weakly "maybe"

"Speaking of your friends. About Harry, do you think-"
