Chapter 15: Buyo?

It was Saturday and Kagome was already awake and working on her homework. Her mom came in with a smile on her face, bringing up her food.

"How is your work coming along honey?" she asked her daughter.

Kagome grinned back holding up her completed math sheet,
"It's been okay. I can't believe I'm actually understanding math for once!"

Mrs. Higurashi pat her back,
"I'm so proud of you Kagome."

She left Kagome's room to go finish the laundry and Kagome closed her notebook, putting her school supplies away. She got dressed and walked downstairs.

"Hey Kagome, would you mind going to the market for me?" Grandpa asked her.

"Sure I don't mind, let me feed Buyo first," Kagome accepted.

Sota was eating cereal on the couch watching the news with his Grandpa.

"As you all recall a student from Hanyou High has been in the hospital since last Tuesday with severe bruises and injuries. she is now in a coma from the inflictions," the news lady explained.

Kagome went to Buyo's cage to let him out, but found that the cage was already opened and her fat, lazy cat gone!

"Mom! Grandpa! Buyo's missing!" Kagome shouted through her home.

"I'm sure he is just around the house somewhere," her mom reassured.

The family looked together around the house to find their chubby feline. As they looked harder and harder, he was nowhere to be found. Kagome grabbed her cell phone and went to the door.

"I'm gonna look outside! He couldn't have gone too far!" Kagome said closing the door behind her.

She walked around the house and made sure he wasn't in their yard. He wasn't there, so she decided to spread out to find him. She walked passed Central park and looked under the special tree, she saw Inuyasha under it. Kagome crept closer and hid a little bit behind the wall, Inuyasha was with Buyo, moving his paws around. It made him look like he was dancing.

Inuyasha laughed a little bit and kept playing around with Buyo, Kagome approached him with a light smile.

"I see you found my cat!" Kagome said.

Inuyasha looked up at her, "Oh sorry I didn't know he belonged to you."

"No, No. It's okay. He seems to like you anyway!" Kagome told him.

He blushed a little and kept playing with the cat under the giant tree. They both sat there awkwardly with each other. Kagome leaned closer to the tree, she moved her head a little more to the side and saw a sketch of some sort in the bark.

It had a heart and inside it were two letters... 'I + K'

Before she could question him about it, he covered it up casually with his elbow and handed her cat back.

"H-here take him," Inuyasha said with a weird tone in his voice.

"Inuyasha. Was that drawing from you and Kikyo?" Kagome asked him.

Inuyasha seemed to get angry with her question,
"Why the hell should I tell you!? It's none of your damn business!"

Kagome's eyes widened, she hugged her cat closer and stood up.

"Sorry I asked," Kagome said with a little bit of tears forming.

Inuyasha felt guilt in his heart,
"Look, I didn't mean to-"
He paused, for he couldn't explain himself.

Kagome looked him straight in the eyes, speaking in a blunt and retorted way,
"You will never trust me."

He looked at her in shock,
"What makes ya say that?"

Kagome turned away from him and felt her cat snuggle into her chest, attempting to make her feel better.

"I'm sorry."

Kagome was stunned, her eyes wide open, to turn back to Inuyasha.

"Look do you really wanna know?" he asked her.

"I just want to let you know, that I am here to talk. I know you Inuyasha," Kagome smiled.

Inuyasha couldn't move, he remembered Kikyo saying the same thing to him.

"I know you Inuyasha..." It echoed in his head in Kikyo's voice.

He snapped out of it and answered Kagome.

"Yeah Kikyo did that. But it was a long time ago, I don't care about it anymore," he said in a simple matter.

"Oh I see..." Kagome sighed.

"He is such a liar, he wouldn't have gotten so mad about it when I asked him!" Kagome thought to herself.

Kagome scooted closer to him and placed her head on his shoulder,
"Thank you for keeping my cat company."

He couldn't help but blush at Kagome, feeling her soft hair lay on top his leather jacket. Buyo wrapped his tail around Inuyasha's arm. They both laughed faintly.

"I have to go to the market to shop for my Grandpa, do you wanna help?" Kagome asked him.

"I don't mind," Inuyasha said crossing his arms.

Kagome went by her house and dropped Buyo off inside.

"Yay! Buyo's back!" Sota cheered.

Buyo went straight to his food and left everyone alone. Kagome waved goodbye at them again and walked with Inuyasha to the market. Inuyasha sniffed around and saw fresh pastries laying out and deliciously decorated cakes.

"Wow this place is awesome..." Inuyasha mumbled in awe.

"Have you never been to the market before?" Kagome asked with a little giggle.

"No never. Usually someone else went for me," Inuyasha said.

Kagome was a little shocked,
"Who got it for you?"

"Well most of the time it was my mother," Inuyasha said a little sad.

"Oh! I would love to meet her sometime," Kagome smiled at him.

"Yeah..." Inuyasha sighed.

Kagome read the list and grabbed stuff to put in her basket. Inuyasha kept gazing around, until he sees some cups of Ramen in the corner.

"What is this stuff?" Inuyasha asked.

"Ramen. Have you not had it before?" Kagome questioned.

"Ra-ra-MAN?" Inuyasha tries to pronounce.

Kagome couldn't help but laugh, she picked up a cup or two and threw it in her basket, on the way to the check out.

"Here I'll get ya some," Kagome offered.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome,
"No, I can't let you do that! Let me pay you back!"

"Don't worry about it," Kagome laughed leaving the market already check out.

Inuyasha and Kagome walked back to her house, he helped her put the groceries away.

"Thanks for the help," Kagome thanked.

"Yea it was no problem," Inuyasha sighed.

Sota came in holding Buyo in his arms.

"Oh Kagome is this your boyfriend?" Sota asked blindly.

"Huh?!" Kagome blushed along with Inuyasha.

"W-w-what are YOU talking about?!" Inuyasha said off guard.
"Why would I date her?"

Kagome felt something snap,
"Why would you date me?! Why would I date you?!"

"What does that suppose to mean?!" Inuyasha argued back.

"Hm. Guess not." Sota concluded.

They continued to fight with each other as Sota stared wanting to laugh at the two.
