About a week had passed and it was two days before the play, everyone in Mr. Jakotsu's class was practicing constantly for the upcoming event. Kanna and Sesshomaru were working backstage, testing the lights and making sure that all the backdrops and props weren't damaged. As for the bigger parts, they were practicing their own lines. Mr. Jakotsu was sitting in one of the chairs of the auditorium, studying his student's actions.

"No no Inuyasha! More convincing!" Mr. Jakotsu called.

They were at the scene where Prince Charming is fitting the shoe on Cinderella's foot.

"Look! I can't help that I didn't wanna do this in the first place!" Inuyasha yelled at him.

"Oh stop you've got the perfect face for this role," the teacher told him.

Kagome was slightly frustrated with him, but none the less she tried to stay in character. After all the play is in two days! They have no time to lose.
Mr. Jakotsu sent out Sango and Miroku to hang a couple more flyers around the school about the play. Miroku would lay a flyer up against the wall, and Sango would tape it down.

"Are you excited?" Miroku asked her.

"I am! I can't wait," Sango responded.

"What about you?"

"I would be more excited if I was the prince...and you were the princess?" Miroku said going to caress Sango's bottom.

She quickly reacted, grabbing his hand in a tiny pinch, lifting it up,
"Should've guessed."

"Listen class! While Miroku and Sango are posting flyers, I want Hojo, Koga, Kanna, and Sesshomaru to try and get the props and backdrops together backstage!" Mr. Jakotsu said.

"Yes sir!" Hojo saluted, marching backstage.

"That kid has to have some screws loose," Koga thought silently as he followed the selected students.

"As for the rest of you...practice your lines!" the teacher commanded.

Everyone practiced their lines over and over, especially Kagome. She kept flipping through the pages and memorizing each sentence that had to be read, but Kagome was in complete panic and Inuyasha had noticed by the look on her face.

"Are you alright?" He asked her.

Kagome looked up for a brief second, but went straight back to reading,
"Yea why wouldn't I be?"

"You seem nervous."

"Nervous? Nervous?! Wh-why would I be nervous?!" Kagome said as her hair was a little frizzy and her eye was twitching.

"Sure..." Inuyasha sighed.

Miroku and Sango came back in with the flyers all gone, seeing all the commotion going on. Ayame approached both of them and handed them a copy of the entire script. After the bell rang for school to end, Inuyasha and Kagome walked out together.

"Too bad Mr. Jakotsu made Sango and Miroku stay after school for awhile," Kagome said.

"Yeah along with Sesshomaru and Kanna," Inuyasha added.

"Oh yeah! Tomorrow we all have to stay after school don't we?" Kagome asked.

"Yep..." Inuyasha sighed.

"C'mon don't be such a downer Inuyasha!" She told him.

Inuyasha rolled his eyes as they approached Kagome's front door.

"Don't we have to bring our costumes tomorrow night? Inuyasha asked of her.

"Yeah, but Mr. Jakotsu wants us to 'feel the role' so we won't see each other in costumes until the night of the play..." Kagome answered.

"That teacher has got some mental issues," Inuyasha insulted.

Kagome looked at him and quickly hugged him lightly,
"I'll see you tomorrow okay?"

Inuyasha was surprised by her gesture and hugged her back lightly, with a warm feeling in his chest,
"Okay..."

Kagome smiled and went inside her house, her heart beating,
"I can't believe I did that..."

Inuyasha smiled faintly and headed back to his house. He walked for awhile and made it home in one piece, opening the door. Inuyasha felt relieved to find no one but him there.

"Thank God I don't have to deal with either of them..." he thought aloud, referring to his Step Mother and Sesshomaru.

Inuyasha sat on the couch and turned on the tiny tv they had owned, flipping through the channels. Hours and hours had passed, when he heard Sesshomaru and Mrs. Taisho walk in.

"Inuyasha! Have you done the homework I've assigned you yet?!" she nagged him.

"Oh get off my back!" Inuyasha sassed as he threw his backpack over his shoulder to escape into his room.

Inuyasha slammed his body onto his bed and stared at the ceiling,
"She felt so warm in my arms."

The next day in theatre everyone was running around. They hung lights, set props, and practiced lines.

"Kanna lighting!" Mr. Jakotsu commanded.

Kanna flickered the lights for testing.

"Sesshomaru! Curtains!"

Sesshomaru pulled back the curtains.

"Okay! Koga! Sound effects!"

Koga pressed a bunch of random buttons on the panel.

"Excellent! Now listen all of you, the play is tonight and it starts at 7:00 sharp! And I have your costumes in the back to change into! So until 7:00 please keep practicing! This needs to be excellent!" The teacher said loudly.

"I hope we do good..." Kagome worried.

Meanwhile outside of school, Naraku was with Kagura and Byakuya in a dark alleyway downtown. Naraku had a cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth.

"Where the hell could he be at?" Naraku questioned the rest of his group.

"Why would we know?" Kagura said whipping a fan out to cool herself.

Naraku took the cigarette out of his mouth to blow some smoke in the air, then putting it back in.

Byakuya pinched his nose and coughed,
"Honestly, must you puff that toxin near me?"

Naraku ignored him, seeing a boy walking towards them.

"Did you find anymore shards?" Naraku asked of him.

The boy threw them on the ground in front of him, his face being covered by the shadows.

Naraku and the others looked down at them, he grinned slyly,
"Excellent work... Kohaku."

"Thank you sir."
