Chapter 43: Halloween?

It was a chilly afternoon, the leaves crushed under Inuyasha's feet as he was walking to Kagome's house after school Friday.

"So Inuyasha, what are you doing for Halloween?" Kagome asked him.

"Probably nothing."

"Really? Trick or treating? Or how about a party? Scary movie marathon?" Kagome asked again.

"I'm not a people person, scary movies don't bother me, and I'd say I'm a little old for trick or treating. Besides... I've never done any of those things before." Inuyasha answered quickly.

"What?! You're kidding," Kagome responded.

"Nah. The most we've done is watch one movie, and it wasn't scary at all. I do remember my parents would carve pumpkins, but that's pretty much it," Inuyasha explained

Kagome stared into thought, she suddenly clapped her hands together and gazed back towards Inuyasha.

"Me and you on Halloween, what do you say?" Kagome asked him.

He felt himself blush,

"I'd uh, I'd like that..."

"Tomorrow's the 30th, so how about I gather some movies that we can watch together on Halloween?" Kagome suggested.

"Sure thing," Inuyasha responded.

They both approached Kagome's door as she smiled from ear to ear.

"I can't wait, it'll be so much fun!" Kagome grinned.

Inuyasha said his goodbyes as Kagome went inside. As he walked away with a smile on his face, his mind started to drift away.

Little Inuyasha ran back and forth along the the living room, enjoying his toys. He looked up at the TV and saw children going to doors and receiving candy. He laughed as he quickly sat up and ran to his mom's side, her cooking in the kitchen.

"Mom I want to go trick or treating, can we? Pretty please!" Inuyasha begged.

His mom turned around to reveal a little costume in her hands,

"Of course, surprise!"

Inuyasha grabbed his costume to wear. It was a scary mask and it came with a black cloak to wear atop his shoulders. His mom waved at Inuyasha as he finally went trick or treating for the first time ever.

"Be home by 8 you hear?" his mom yelled.

"Yes mom!" Inuyasha smiled widely.

Inuyasha had made it to his apartment and went straight to the bathroom. He locked the door and started to undress to take a shower. He was still thinking to himself about his first official Halloween Night.

Inuyasha started to run down the sidewalk, his cloak flowing in the wind. All that was going through his head was his pillow case full of sweets. He stopped at the first house and knocked on the door. A younger woman had opened it.
