Chapter 37: Ayame?

A week had passed and the leaves on the trees began to turn into different shades of reds and yellows. Autumn was finally here. Even though the scenery was beautiful, it was chilly outside. Kagome stepped out of her home with a light scarf and her long sleeved school uniform.

"Brr it sure is cold out here," Kagome shivered.

"Kagome make sure you're warm, you've only been healthy for about a week," her mom said.

"Don't worry mom, I'll be fine. See ya!" Kagome waved as she saw Inuyasha walking up to her door.

"Ready to go?" Inuyasha asked.

"Yep!" she smiled.

They both headed down the sidewalk and on the way to school.

"It's so cold out here," Kagome lightly said As she brought her scarf in closer to her neck.

"Oh c'mon it ain't that cold. If you think this is bad, I hate to see how bad you get when it's winter," Inuyasha said.

"The only thing I'm looking forward to in the winter is a chance of snow," Kagome told him.

"Yea then we don't have to show up to school," Inuyasha retorted.

"Oh c'mon, school isn't that bad." Kagome said.

"It is. The only reason I keep going is because you do too," Inuyasha blushed.

Kagome turned pink as she turned her head,

"Is that so?"

"Yea it is."

Inuyasha and Kagome passed by the middle school building and saw that Sesshomaru was standing at the gates.

"He must be with that little girl again," Inuyasha assumed.

"I'd say so," Kagome agreed.

"I still don't get it. He usually isn't sentimental like that, espeacially with children," Inuyasha said.

Kagome felt a tug at her skirt as she looked down to see Shippo smiling up at her.

"Hi Kagome!" Shippo waved.

"Good morning Shippo! How are you?" Kagome asked.

"I'm doin good," Shippo replied.

Inuyasha bent down to face Shippo,

"Hey Shippo, do you know who that little girl is?"

"Oh yea she's in my class, her name is Rin." Shippo said.

"Oh yes I remember, I Think he said her name before," Kagome commented.

"Tell us more."

"From what I know, she is adopted and walks to school everyday with the silver haired guy. She seems to like him alot," Shippo informed.

"How can anyone like a prick like Sesshomaru?" Inuyasha crossed his arms.

"Then a short guy comes and follows him," Shippo added.
