"So...you wanted to get money to leave this place?" Kagome asked him.
Inuyasha sighed,
"Hell yea! You think I wanna be with my step mom and that Sesshomaru?!""Then why did Kikyo tell me not to give it to you?" Kagome asked.
Inuyasha furrowed his brows and crossed his arms,
"Like I'd know?!"Kagome looked down at the ground and saw a shiny object near the sewage drain. She moved closer to it, crouched down, and picked it up.
"Inuyasha." Kagome said trying to call him over.
Inuyasha went over to her and she lifted up the object with her finger tips,
"Is this a part of the jewel?"Inuyasha looked closely at it, nodding, but thought to himself,
"How could she see that and not me?"Kagome looked at it as it shined in the sunlight.
"Give it here." Inuyasha asked of her. He threw his hand up and tried to swipe it from her grip.
"Sit!" Kagome yelled, Inuyasha slamming into the ground.
"What the hell?!" Inuyasha shouted at her.
"We can't just leave it like this...and you can't have it!" Kagome told him.
"What are you suggesting...?" Inuyasha asked.
"To gather all the shards together.
After all it's not worth anything if it's in pieces," Kagome told him.Inuyasha rolled his eyes at her. He knew she was right.
"Yea yea..." Inuyasha sighed.Kagome sharply turned to face him,
"Now don't be thinking I'm gathering these for you! It's my fault it broke, so I'm going to fix it!"Inuyasha kept his face low, trying to ignore her.
Kagome stood up high and frowned,
"Now if you'll excuse me...I'm going home.""But I thought I could walk you home-" Inuyasha was interrupted as Kagome gave him an intimidating glare.
"You really think I want you to after that display?!"
Inuyasha huffed and turned away from her as she walked away from him with a shard from the jewel in her hand.
After the two went their separate ways, Kagome walked up the steps to her home.
"Oh welcome home Kagome! How was your day?" her mom asked.
Kagome looked at her and forced a smile,
"Great!"She continued up the stairs and went up to her room. She threw herself onto the bed and buried her face into her pillows.
"Stupid...stupid!" Kagome thought to herself, clenching the pillow case.
The Next Morning in the middle second block, Kagome continued writing down her notes as Inuyasha stared at the board, trying to keep his gaze away from Kagome. Neither of them spoke to each other the whole time. As time passed it was time to leave and Inuyasha and Kagome both took different directions to class. Sango still hasn't been in school because she was still under the weather. Kagome sat down at her seat and sighed under her breath.
"Well well, someone's not in a good mood today," Miroku said sliding next to her.
"Oh hi Miroku. It's just..." Kagome was interrupted by the teacher as he stood in front of the class.
"Well this is rare..." someone whispered.
"Class. We're having a new student. And he should be here any minute now," Mr. Hosenki spoke.
There was a sudden knock at the door as a teacher was seen through the window with someone beside her. A student opened the door and Kagome and Miroku were shocked.
"I'm wishing you luck on this one Mr. Hosenki, he is such a troublesome man!" Mrs. Janis complained.
"I'm sure I can handle him..." Mr. Hosenki said with his phone out.
"What! How am I troublesome?!" A voice said.
"I-it's Inuyasha?!" Kagome thought.
Inuyasha walked in and saw Kagome and Miroku, heading their way.
"Inuyasha!" Miroku said in excitement.
"What's up?" Inuyasha responded as they did a man hug. Clasping their hand together and slamming themselves into each other.
Kagome still avoided eye contact with him and so did Inuyasha.
"So..." Miroku trailed off seeing something was going on between them.
An awkward tension filled the air as Miroku kept looking back and forth between them. Suddenly Inuyasha looked at Kagome and Kagome looked at Inuyasha.
"Sorry." They both said in unison
"I didn't mean to break the jewel..." Kagome sighed.
"And I was being stupid..." Inuyasha admitted.
"Inuyasha confessed to his mistakes? I don't know what happened, but he's NEVER done that before," Miroku thought alone.
Kagome's face lit up,
"Oh yea Miroku. Sorry we haven't told you anything yet have we?"Miroku sort of shrugged,
"Not really.""Kagome broke the jewel like the clutz she is," Inuyasha said.
"Hey! You're the one who went all possessive over it!" Kagome accused him.
"But I didn't break the jewel!!" Inuyasha argued.
"So this means that Inuyasha shares two classes with Sango, Kagome, and I, not to mention lunch..." Miroku briefly paused.
"Quit being so stubborn!" Kagome complained.
"Not till you quit!" Inuyasha said back.
"Oh great. This'll be interesting..." Miroku continued as Inuyasha and Kagome kept arguing back and forth.
-Outside of School-
Something sparkled from the corner of his eye as he picked it up. The both of them skipping class.
"I knew it. I knew it was still here..." the man concluded.
"Too bad it's in pieces," someone else said.
"Do not worry Byakuya, it shouldn't be too hard to find them," the man said.
"So persistent Naraku." Byakuya smiled.
Naraku snickered under his breath,
"Thanks for the praise. Now...let the hunt begin."
