Chapter 18: Shattered?

The next day Kagome was at school on the way to second block.

"Man...I want Sango back at school," Kagome sighed.

"Kagome!"

"Is someone calling my name?" Kagome questioned turning around to see Inuyasha running towards her.

"Hey wait up!" he yelled across the hall.

Kagome looked over her shoulders,
"Inuyasha!"

Inuyasha finally caught up to her and burrowed his eyebrows,
"Why didn't ya wait for me?!"

"Maybe you just run slow," Kagome teased.

"No I do not!" Inuyasha said getting offended.

Kagome laughed a little,
"We've grown so close since he shared his story with me. Why am I blushing?"

They both approached the door to their math class.

"Huh? A note?" Kagome said puzzled.

Inuyasha tore it off the door and read it aloud,
"All Block Two students, head to the library."

"But the library is all the way on the other side of the campus!! We'll never make it!" Kagome said hopelessly.

"Not if I can help it!" Inuyasha said bending down and holding his hands out.

"Get on my back!" Inuyasha commanded.

"O-okay..." Kagome hesitated jumping on his back.

Inuyasha jumped up in midair and practically flew across the halls.

"I-Inuyasha! Slow down!!" Kagome said gripping his shoulders tightly.

"Outta our way!" Inuyasha shouted through the hallway.

He swiftly passed people and jumped over their heads.

"How is he running so fast??" Kagome questioned.

Kagome kept getting glares and puzzled looks from her classmates as she rode his back.

"Oh jeez..." Kagome said under her breath, pulling his hair over her face.

She took out her cellphone and saw they had one minute left.

"Inuyasha!"

"I know I know! We're almost there!" Inuyasha said to her.

Inuyasha felt Kagome's hands feel his neck. He suddenly blushed and tripped on the floor. His face sliding against the tile.

"Inuyasha?! Are you okay?" Kagome asked in concern.

Inuyasha rose up, Kagome still on his back,
"Almost there!"

Inuyasha started running. They had 10 seconds to get to the library before the late bell rang.

"Inuyasha we're not gonna make it!" Kagome yelled.

"We're gonna make it! Inuyasha yelled back.

"Inuyasha! The library!" Kagome shouted.

The bell had rung and Inuyasha's foot was at the door. They made it. Mrs. Taisho faced them and had a shocked expression on her face.

"Ah you're actually on time for once Inuyasha..." she stared in his eyes.

"Yeah so?" he looked at her.

"I have never seen you on time like this before," Mrs. Taisho said.

"Keh! Don't get used to it..." Inuyasha said as Kagome got off his back.
