Chapter 14: Babysit?

As it still rained outside, Inuyasha and Kagome approached the apartment complex, where they would babysit for Sango. They had to go to the top floor in apartment room "5b".

"This place looks like a dump," Inuyasha insulted, looking around on the floor of the complex.

Kagome knocked on the door,
"Hello? It's the Babysitters!"

A tall man answered the door, with light orange hair in a suit and tie.

"Ah yes hello there! Oh, I'm sorry but where is the woman I met before?' He asked them.

"She got sick at the last minute so, we're filling in for her!" Kagome answered.

"Oh how kind of you two, well he's in there. I promise I will pay you when I return, have a good time!" he said leaving down the stairs.

Inuyasha and Kagome opened the door and saw that there was a kid on the couch watching TV in the living room.

"Hello there. What's your name?" Kagome asked.

The kid didn't look away from the TV.

"Okay...um, My name is Kagome and this is Inuyasha," she told him.

He continued to ignore the two of them.

"Look ya little brat!" Inuyasha said losing his temper and rushing towards him.

"Smoke bomb!" the child yelled throwing a tiny ball on the ground.

A cloud of smoke blew through the air making Inuyasha fall to the ground, covering his nose.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome yelled in concern.

Inuyasha got up and looked around the room,
"Where did the brat go?!"

Kagome looked around as well seeing a bush of orange hair behind the couch.

"There!" Kagome pointed.

Inuyasha jumped behind the couch and picked up a furry pillow,
"What in the hell..."

"Where did he go so fast?" Kagome wondered.

Inuyasha and Kagome went around the apartment room, trying to find the kid they were suppose to be watching over. Kagome went in the bathroom and screamed, Inuyasha ran to her.

"Kagome? What's wrong?!" he said slightly worried about her.

Kagome picked up a snake like toy, "Sorry I thought it was real..."

Inuyasha twitched,
"This kid seems to be some kind of trickster..."

He popped up and jumped onto Inuyasha's head, pulling his face back.

"Haha! I got you!" he yelled at Inuyasha, holding his face tighter.

Inuyasha gritted his teeth and kept trying to pull him off,
"Lay off ya damn runt!!"

Kagome ran over and tried to pull him off of Inuyasha.

"Don't worry. I promise we'll take good care of you!" Kagome smiled brightly at him, rubbing her fingers through his hair.

The little boy blushed and let go of Inuyasha, landing his two feet on the ground.

"Why not tell us your name?" Kagome said her smile still wide.

"My name's Shippo," he grinned at her.

Inuyasha growled slightly, rubbing his face,
"You stupid brat! Look what you did to my face!"
There were tiny scratches all over his cheeks.

Kagome held out her hand and placed it on Inuyasha's face,
"Oh you'll be fine ya big baby."

Inuyasha started blushing and took her hand off his face,
"I am not a baby!"
