Two weeks had passed and Kagome was finally used to everyone and could now find her way around the school. She started to go out the door, still in shock to find out about her and Kikyo being related. Kagome had been wanting to tell her, but hadn't had the nerve to.
As she got closer she saw Sango and Miroku near the front waiting for her.
"You ready Kagome?" Miroku waved at her.
Kagome ran toward them heading to their classes.
Kagome and Sango came in and sat down in the front.
Mr. Jinenji smiled as he wrote the assignment for the day on the board.
"So Kagome, have you told Kikyo yet?" Sango asked.
Kagome looked down at the desk,
"No I... I just can't for some reason."
"Alright class listen up, today we will be dissecting a grasshopper and labeling the different parts," Mr. Jinenji explained.
"Ew that's so gross Mr. Jinenji!" a girl exclaimed.
"I'm sorry Sarah, but it is a requirement after all. Okay, find a partner and come to me to get your supplies," he announced.
Kagome and Sango linked arms and smiled at each other.
"I'll get the supplies," Sango said while getting up from the table.
Kagome laid her head on the table,
"I wonder when will be a good time to tell her?" Kagome trailed off in her thoughts as Sango came back with the supplies.
The bag held tweezers, pins, a little metal tray, gloves, and the specimen itself.
"You ready to cut this thing open?" Sango asked Kagome.
"I guess I gotta be right?" she answered.
As the rest of the class dissected their grasshoppers Mr. Jinenji passed out their homework.
"Class, you will need to complete this and hand it back in tomorrow morning," he stated.
Before they knew, the bell rang and people were heading to their second block.
Kagome walked in and sat in her usual seat, getting her notes out from last week. She saw Inuyasha and Kikyo talking outside.
"Inuyasha, I'm afraid I have terrible news," Kikyo said.
"What?"
"I'm leaving."
"Leaving? W-what are you talking about?" Inuyasha stuttered in confusion.
"I'm moving, Inuyasha..." Kikyo finally said.
"Why?" he questioned.
"My dad got a better job somewhere else, so we should just break up," Kikyo sighed.
"Break up? How could you do this?!" Inuyasha panicked.
"It's fate Inuyasha, I'm sorry for this."
"No you just can't leave!" Inuyasha shouted in anger.
"I have to!" Kikyo shouted back.
The intercom came on in the hallways,
"Will Kikyo please report to the office for checkout!"
Inuyasha clenched his fist, looking down at the floor. Kikyo leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
"Goodbye Inuyasha," she simply said.
Kikyo began to walk away until he pulls her in with a hug.
"Please Kikyo..." he mumbled.
Kikyo pushed him away with tears in her eyes.
Kagome sat there with a frown on her face, hearing the whole thing.
Inuyasha walked into Mrs. Taisho's and sat down.
"The poor guy," Kagome thought to herself.
Inuyasha sat there in silence, he couldn't move.
"I guess there won't be much talking today," Kagome assumed alone.
"Okay class, we will be having a test on Thursday on the quadratic formula," Mrs. Taisho explained.
Inuyasha rested his head on his hand, as Kagome looked at him lightly.
"What are you looking at?" Inuyasha snapped.
"Nothing I just..." She stopped for a moment and noticed he had tears in his eyes.
"Never mind," she said.
"Yea whatever," Inuyasha said rolling his eyes.
Kagome kept writing down her notes and thought to herself,
"He's trying so hard not to show his sadness, just when we were starting to be friends..."Time zoomed by and it was finally time for lunch.
"No way seriously?!" Sango was shocked as Kagome told her what happened.
"Yeah I feel terrible for him," Kagome said, staring at the table.
Miroku shook his head,
"Yes it is quite sad. I can not believe it happened either, considering they have been together since freshman year."Kagome looked around the cafeteria,
"Where is he anyway?"
"I saw him go to the roof after third block," Ayame added sitting beside Sango and the others.
Kagome got up and headed toward the doors with her lunch.
"Where are you going?" Sango asked.
"Well somebody's gotta cheer him up, right?" she said leaving the cafeteria.
"She really is nice to him isn't she?" Ayame asked the group.
"Yea I don't know how she can tolerate him so much," Miroku mumbled.
Meanwhile Kagome climbed up the stairs to find Inuyasha on the roof.
He was laying on his back, looking at the sky.
"Hey," Kagome said sitting beside him.
"What do you want?" he sighed.
Kagome took a bean bun out of her bag and held it out to him.
"Aren't you hungry?" she gestured.
Inuyasha sat up slowly taking it,
"Why are you being so nice to me for?""Everybody needs a friend," Kagome smiled.
Her hair blew in the wind as Inuyasha blushed, starting to eat his bean bun.
