A week had passed and Inuyasha was on his way to Miroku's shrine to hang out. Rumors of Kikyo's return kept on growing and growing as days went by. As Inuyasha made his way up the steps, he had started thinking to himself.
"If Kikyo really were to come back. What would I do then? I mean what about Kagome...I don't think I could-" he paused seeing Miroku waving at him from the top of the stairs.
"Finally here I see?" Miroku asked.
"Well your house has too many damn steps to climb, so it ain't my fault," Inuyasha sassed.
"Sure...come on in then."
Inuyasha went inside and saw it was nicely decorated, but had a few empty liquor bottles on the floor.
"Miroku you drink?" Inuyasha asked pointing to a random and empty bottle on the floor.
"No, that would be Mushin," Miroku sighed picking them up.
"Oh yea...should've known," Inuyasha said helping him pick them up.
"So I'm sure you've heard the rumors again..." Miroku looked up at him.
Inuyasha didn't respond.
"How would you handle it Inuyasha, if she just appeared again?" Miroku questioned.
Inuyasha paused his movement and talked in a serious tone,
"I...I don't know.""I'm sure they're just made up anyway," Miroku assured him.
"Yea probably..." Inuyasha responded.
After they picked up all the bottles, the boys went upstairs to Miroku's room to play video games. They did countless combat games and Inuyasha had won each round with an ease. He decided to take advantage of the situation.
"Hey Miroku, if I win this next round you give me $20," Inuyasha said in a cocky matter.
Miroku smirked and rubbed his chin,
"Hm this sounds interesting. So if I win you give me $20?""Uh about that, I don't have any money to give if you win," Inuyasha sweat dropped.
"What? What about your babysitting money?" Miroku questioned.
"Oh I already spent it." Inuyasha answered.
"Spent it on what exactly?"
"Cup ramen." Inuyasha said.
Miroku twitched and shook his head,
"Okay then...how about if I win...you ask Kagome out.""What?!" Inuyasha yelled.
"Sorry. I just can't think of anything else," Miroku said with a sly grin.
"Tch! Whatever! As if I'm gonna lose anyway!" Inuyasha spoke with confidence.
"Shall we begin then?" Miroku asked.
"Hell yea. Let's go!" Inuyasha said starting a new round.
The boys were neck and neck as they repeatedly kept pushing buttons on their controllers. They both had the same look on their faces, determination and focus. Inuyasha looked over at his health bar and saw it was extremely low.
"What how did that happen!?" Inuyasha exclaimed.
Miroku pressed his buttons swiftly in a calm matter and got Inuyasha all the way down to zero. Miroku had won.
"You got too cocky," Miroku chuckled.
Inuyasha slightly twitched.
"Looks like someone is going on a date tomorrow," Miroku said as he stood up to go to his mini fridge for soda.
"Want a drink? I have quite a variety," Miroku mentioned.
"There ain't no way I can do this, " Inuyasha sighed with a blush.
"You're the one that made the bet, besides...You have been talking about asking her out to lunch all this week," Miroku explained.
"Yea but, I never said I was gonna do it!" Inuyasha crossed his arms.
"If anything I did you a favor. You wouldn't have asked her unless someone pushed you to it, or it was a dare. Am I right?" Miroku sipped from his drink.
Inuyasha scoffed with a light red to his cheeks. He didn't give a response.
"That's what I thought," Miroku said.
"Alright let's go.""What?! Now?!" Inuyasha asked.
"Yes now, c'mon." Miroku pushed Inuyasha out the door.
As they both walked down the steps Inuyasha stuffed his hands in his sleeves,
"And exactly why are you going?""How else will I know you asked?" Miroku stated.
As they reached the bottom of the steps, the two of them headed towards Kagome's house.
Meanwhile, Sango was over at Kagome's place working on homework for biology.
"Ugh I don't understand this at all!" Sango sighed.
Kagome kept writing stuff down on her paper,
"What question are you on?""Number 1," Sango sighed again, laying down on her back.
"You're still on that?" Kagome asked.
Sango lightly closed her eyes,
"Sadly...""Here I'll help ya. Let's see...well the mitochondria is-" Kagome paused as she heard a knocking on her door.
"Who could that be?" Kagome thought aloud.
She walked over to the door and opened it slowly to reveal Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha?" What's up?" Kagome asked him.
"Wait Inuyasha?" Sango whispered to herself as she looked over to see him standing in the doorway.
"Kagome I uh- gotta ask ya something," Inuyasha stuttered.
Kagome felt her heart beating faster than usual,
"Yes Inuyasha?""I uh- you wanna...do something tomorrow?" Inuyasha blushed.
"Tomorrow?" Kagome questioned as her cheeks held a pink tone.
"Yea, you wanna?" Inuyasha asked once again.
Kagome looked at him and smiled brightly,
"Okay!"Miroku grinned quietly on the sidewalk, hearing Kagome's response.
"I'll pick you up at three tomorrow," Inuyasha said as he walked away.
"See you soon," Kagome waved as she closed the door behind her.
She suddenly felt Sango grab her arms.
"A date with Inuyasha?!"
Kagome blushed and nodded at her,
"Guess so!"Sango slightly squealed with excitement,
"C'mon! I'll help you find an outfit!!"Kagome laughed lightly as they both headed upstairs to her room to find the perfect outfit to wear.
"Aren't you excited Kagome?!" Sango had asked her.
Kagome still had a flush to her cheeks,
"I think so...I didn't expect him to ask me like that.""Me neither! Now let's see...oh you have this cute green dress you could wear, or how about his yellow one..." Sango kept rambling on.
Kagome held her hand over her heart with a smile and thought to herself,
"I never thought that Inuyasha would ask me out on a date. I don't know why, but I'm so happy!"-
Afterward, Miroku and Inuyasha had started walking back to his shrine on the sidewalk.
"See that wasn't so bad," Miroku said.
Inuyasha stopped and had sweat coming down his face,
"Are you kidding me?! I was terrified!! How aren't you like that?"Miroku laughed at him,
"Years of practice my friend."
