As everyone was finishing up the exercise, Mr. Jakotsu was passing out a packet to the students.
"Okay listen up people! For practice, let's memorize this little skit that I found," he said.
The play was titled
'Cinderella'.
Inuyasha narrowed his eyebrows,
"Ah hell no!"
Miroku smiled widely and pulled Sango closer to him,
"Well my dear, how about I be the prince and you be the princess!"
"Not on your life," Sango twitched.
Kagome looked at the packet and flipped through it, analyzing the lines.
Mr. Jakotsu laughed,
"We will perform this play in front of the entire school in about a month, so let's get to assigning the parts yes?"
"Look here teach, this is stupid!" Inuyasha retorted.
"My cute little friend," he paused holding Inuyasha's shoulder,
"There is no need to hate on the beauty of theater."
Hojo held the other shoulder, nodding to Mr. Jakotsu's statement,
"Theater is an amazing thing to be in and Mr. Jakotsu, I would love to be in any play no matter what it may be!"
Mr. Jakotsu was smiling,
"Oh Mr. Hojo! You're the perfect student I have always wanted!"
They both hugged laughing hysterically at their own passion for theater.
"This school is too stupid..." Inuyasha thought to himself.
Kagura and Kanna looked at Sesshomaru in a blush, while Koga and Ayame were arguing again.
"Koga, maybe you could be the prince and I be the princess!" Ayame giggled.
"How many times do I have to say it? No!" he shouted as Ayame pulled and hugged on his arm.
"Aw pretty please Koga!!" she begged.
Koga tried to ignore her as he kept walking around trying to get her off of him.
Kagome sat in the corner of the room while everyone was talking to each other, hugging the packet.
"I've always wanted to be Cinderella..." she thought to herself smiling.
"What the hell is with the creepy smile?" Inuyasha interrupted her train of thought.
Kagome looked up at him,
"Oh Inuyasha," she said noticing him looking down at her.
"I think this play is a dumb idea," Inuyasha said.
Kagome stood up,
"I think it's a good idea, after all it's not like we can avoid it."Inuyasha shrugged as they both watched the chaos around the room. The clock was about to hit 3:00, which is when the bell would ring. People started to pack up and stand outside the door.
"All this week and next week we will discuss parts and what to do! Have a great rest of your day everyone!" Mr. Jakotsu waved as the bell had finally rung.
Everyone was rushing outside finally getting out of school. Kagome was the last one out of theater, she turns to see Inuyasha hugging Kikyo outside and going in for a kiss. She quickly turned away and kept going.
Kikyo frowned,
"It won't be much longer..."Kagome was on her way home, kicking a rock over and over as she kept walking. Suddenly she saw a pair of feet in front of her, she looked up to see Koga from her theater class.
"Yo," he smiled at her.
"Oh Koga..." Kagome trailed off.
Koga blushed lightly and quickly grabbed her hands,
"C-can I take you out on a date or something?"
Kagome stood there in awe, she couldn't move, couldn't respond.
"Well?" he continued.
"I would but. I don't really know you. I mean c'mon, it's only the first day," she said trying to tell him no nicely.
Koga smiled,
"Then we'll just call it a friend on friend thing."Kagome shrugged and went along with it, "Okay then."
Koga still held her hand, leading her to the local frozen yogurt place.
"Oh wait Koga, I don't have any money..." Kagome said trying to break free.
"Oh no no, I'll pay for you!" he offered.
"Aw man why does he have to be so nice?" she said feeling bad.
Koga got chocolate yogurt while Kagome got vanilla as the two sat down to eat together.
"What school did you come from?" Koga asked her.
"I came from Pet-" she was interrupted by the door slamming open by Ayame.
"Oh great..." Koga sighed.
"Koga how dare you!" she said angrily.
Koga stood up,
"Why you gotta be so annoying?!""Who is she?!" Ayame asked.
Kagome started to hide her face.
"It's none of your damn business!" he replied.
"Oh yes it is!!" Ayame exclaimed.
As the two kept arguing Kagome stared at the clock seeing it was now 3:30.
"Ugh I just wanna go home..."
Kagome huffed to herself.
"You're such a jerk Koga!" Ayame yelled.
"Well if you feel that way, why did you bother coming here?!" he asked her.
Ayame fell silent and turned away.
Kagome got up and disrupted their dispute,
"Um I'm sorry Koga but I have to get back and help my grandpa do some things, see you tomorrow?"
"Ah wait Kagome!"
Koga said trying to get her not to leave.Kagome went out the door and yelled back at him,
"I'm really sorry! Thank you for the yogurt!"Kagome finally made a distance and was almost home. As she approached the steps, she sees her mom sweeping,
"Mom?"
"Oh welcome home honey! How was your first day at school?" Mrs. Higurashi asked.
Kagome giggled lightly,
"I made some very interesting friends today mom.""Great dear!" her mom smiled.
Kagome raised her head, remembering something.
"Do we have anyone in our family named Kikyo?"
"Let's take a looksie shall we?" Mrs. Higurashi said, pulling out a family tree chart found in one of the books on the shelf.
"Kikyo, Kikyo...ah! Here she is!" her mom pointed her out.
"It seems you two are second cousins," she answered.
"Second cousins?!" Kagome said in surprise.
