Chapter 33: Sick?

It was an October morning and Kagome was still in bed, wrapped up in her covers as her mom opened her door.

"Kagome, are you feeling alright?"

Kagome shook her head as she panted lightly in the blankets.

Mrs. Higurashi went over to her daughter and sat beside her on the bed. She placed her hand over Kagome's head.

"Kagome! You're burning up! Let me go get a thermometer..."

Kagome nodded as her mom went and got the thermometer from downstairs and came back up. She placed it under her tongue until she heard a beeping sound.

"Oh my, one hundred degrees Fahrenheit!" her mom exclaimed.

"But mom I need to go to school..." Kagome coughed.

"No absolutely not. You're staying home today and getting some rest," her mom commanded.

Kagome coughed some more and felt a lump in her throat,
"O-okay..."

Meanwhile Sango was already in her seat for class until she got a text message.

"Hey Sango. I won't be at school today, sorry! I'm sick " the text read.

"Oh poor Kagome...I wonder what she is sick from?" Sango thought to herself.

It was now third block and Sango and Miroku showed up to class earlier than usual. As they walked in they paused to see that Inuyasha was impatiently tapping his foot at their table. A text from Kagome popped up on Sango's Phone,
"Do not worry about visiting me!"

"You two!" Inuyasha yelled pointing at them.

He stood up and rushed to them,
"Where's Kagome?!"

Miroku sighed,
"She's sick today Inuyasha."

"Sick? With what?!" Inuyasha asked.

"I texted her and she said they don't know, it might be just the common cold or even the flu is an option," Sango answered him.

"We need to go see her then!" Inuyasha said.

"Inuyasha. Last time we worried so much is because we didn't hear from her. But she told us that she doesn't want to see us," Miroku explained.

"As if I care about that!" Inuyasha said.

"We want to visit her too Inuyasha. But she probably doesn't want to get us sick. You know she would feel bad if she did," Sango told him.

Inuyasha gritted his teeth as he knew Sango was right. Inuyasha walked back over to their table and crossed his arms in a pout. Miroku and Sango looked at each other and sighed lightly. They wanted to see her too, but who knew that Inuyasha would be this concerned.

It was now lunch time and everyone was sitting with each other except for...

"Where's Inuyasha?" Ayame asked the two.

"Probably pouting somewhere again..." Miroku sighed.

"Pouting?"

"Kagome is sick and she told us all not to go see her so we wouldn't get sick. Inuyasha got mad and hasn't talked since we told him," Sango answered.

They were right, Inuyasha had escaped up to the roof and laid there looking up at the sky.

"I don't care if I get sick. I gotta see her. Maybe I can help..." Inuyasha spoke.

He decided that he would skip fourth block and go out into town to gather some supplies for her.

"I'm gonna help her, whether she likes it or not!" Inuyasha scoffed.
