It was 7:00 and the entire theatre was packed full of people, waiting anxiously to see their play, Cinderella. Everyone was backstage setting up the effects and such. Kagome stood behind the curtain, her hands shaking slightly as she waited for Mr. Jakotsu to start the play for the audience. She was in her first costume, wearing teared clothing and an apron. Her haired was tied back into a ponytail with a ribbon inside and a broom in her hand. "I can't do it! I can't do it!" Kagome started saying in her mind.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see it was Sango who wasn't in costume yet, she smiled at Kagome lightly,
"You got this!" Sango whispered.
Sango managed to calm Kagome's nerves as she nodded and turned back around with a determined look on her face.
Kagome peeked through the curtains seeing her family sitting down with Shippo and his Father. She quickly hid behind the curtain again as she saw Mr. Jakotsu walk onto the stage. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our first school play! My students and I worked very hard to put this story together so I do hope you enjoy it. Audience, I give you...Cinderella!" he announced as Kanna pulled the curtains back.
"There once was a girl who lived in a small town with her step mother and sisters. Her journey begins when the step family received an invitation to the royal ball," Mr. Jakotsu narrated.
Kagome changed, she was no longer a highschool girl, she was now the pauper Cinderella.
Kagura came out, being the stepmother, while Ayame and Hojo were the step sisters. Even though Hojo was a boy....not like he cared to begin with.
Kagura appeared on stage holding a folded pink letter. Hojo and Ayame stood beside her.
"Oh my! Three tickets to the ball! The royal ball!" Ayame squealed with excitement.
"We must go. It's such a wonderful opportunity for you girls to gain the prince's love. And with that, we will gain his power and wealth!" Kagura the stepmother smiled.
"How can we go? There's much to do around the house," Hojo said as high pitched as he could.
The crowd laughed.
"Is that a boy?" "Who is that?"
"These floors are filthy...Cinderella!" The stepmother called.
It was Kagome's time to shine as she walked on stage holding a broom in her hand,
"Yes stepmother?"
"These floors are positively filthy, I demand you sweep them," the twisted stepmother commanded.
Kagome played her role,
"Oh I'm terribly sorry!" She knelt down and scrubbed the floors.
Cinderella (Kagome) looked up and saw there were 4 tickets in her stepmother's hands as they walked away from her.
"We're going to the royal ball?" Cinderella assumed.
She jumped for joy as she finished scrubbing the dirt off the floor. Cinderella ran upstairs as the curtains closed. People were switching scenes.
Meanwhile, Inuyasha and Miroku were getting into costume for their upcoming scene as well. Inuyasha kept tugging at his collar.
"Man this thing is irritating," Inuyasha complained.
Miroku retied his usual ponytail,
"Oh Inuyasha, you just aren't the type for theatre are you?"
"Hell no, but it's an easy class." Inuyasha replied, as he had to tie his hair in a long ponytail as well.
Mr. Jakotsu came in the changing room,
"Boys you're almost up."
Inuyasha rolled his eyes as the both of them waited to go on.
Back on stage, they were to the part where Cinderella had made her own dress with her animal friends to wear to the ball.
