Chapter 25: Little Family?

After Sango and Kagome shopped for awhile, they took their separate ways back home.

"Goodbye! And good luck with the babysitting tomorrow night!" Sango waved.

Kagome waved back,
"Thanks! Bye!"

Kagome turned around and went through the door and up the stairs to her room. She took out her math homework and began to read the problems and fill in the answers.

"That's right...I do have to babysit tomorrow night...I can't believe I forgot," Kagome said to herself.

The next day, Kagome woke up with a yawn and walked downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning dear! What would you like to eat?" she asked her weary daughter.

Kagome rubbed her eyes,
"Eggs..."

"Okay sweetie they'll be ready in a bit," her mom said.

Kagome sat in a dining chair and pet Buyo, who was at her knees.

"So are you going to babysit again tonight?" Mrs. Higurashi asked.

"Yea. Inuyasha said he was going to come by and get me, and we would head there together."

"Sounds like fun!" Mrs. Higurashi said as she cracked an egg on the pan.

The egg sizzled with intense heat as Kagome picked up her cat and let him lay in her lap. Her mom tossed the eggs on a plate and placed it in front of Kagome.

"Enjoy dear!"

Meanwhile, Inuyasha and Miroku were at Wcdonald's, enjoying a burger.

"Babysitting?" Miroku questioned.

"Yeah I'm gonna go pick up Kagome later tonight," Inuyasha said chewing with his mouth open.

"Ah I see. But I didn't expect to see you helping with babysitting. As you once said,
'That's the stupidest thing I could ever do.' Miroku quoted his friend.

"Yeah yeah. Look I'm only doing this for Kagome, alright?" Inuyasha said chewing his food.

"I wish you would just confess to her," Miroku slightly teased, trying not to laugh.

Inuyasha blushed madly as he slammed his hand on the table,
"What are you babbling on about?! "

Miroku whispered lightly,
"Everyone is staring at you..."

Inuyasha looked around to see people from class or just strangers staring down at him. He quickly sat back down, keeping the pinkish color in his cheeks.

Later that evening, Kagome was finishing up her homework in her room, constantly looking over at the clock to check the time.

"C'mon hit 7:00 already!" Kagome thought aloud wanting to quit her homework and have Inuyasha come get her.

Sota knocked on ber door and let himself in,
"Hey sis. Inuyasha's here!"

Kagome smiled wide as she closed her books and ran down stairs. She wore a simple yellow dress and a blue cardigan.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome called as she kept going down the stairs.

Inuyasha looked up and smiled happily as Kagome went up to him.

"You two have fun!" her mom said as they both left out the door.

As they were on their way to Shippo's apartment, the wind blew lightly and the sun was starting to set.

"How long do we have to babysit this time?" Inuyasha asked.

"He never said, but I guess we'll find out soon huh?" Kagome assumed.
