Kagome continued to walk home, not forgetting what Kikyo said. She hopped up the steps to her home and saw her mom sweeping the entrance.
"Oh hello sweetie, how was your day?" she asked her daughter.
Kagome yawned lightly,
"It was okay, a little bit crazy for some people."
"Can I get you anything?" Mrs. Higurashi asked.
"No that's okay mom. I'm gonna go take a bath," Kagome said going inside.
She undressed and laid in the bath, putting bath salt in the water.
"I hope things will turn out okay for Inuyasha, after all he's been through today..." Kagome thought with sympathy.
After her bath she wrapped up in a towel and walked towards her room, changing into her pajamas.
"Kagome sweetie! Dinner!" Her mom yelled from he kitchen.
As they all started sitting at the table Kagome went straight for the rice and kept her mouth full of food.
"Um sweetheart...why not chew all your food before you stuff more in?" Her mom suggested.
Kagome looked up at her family, finally swallowing all her food,
"I can't do that mom, I need plenty of energy to cheer Inuyasha up!"
"You know I've been hearing a lot about this boy from you lately," Grandpa scolded her.
Kagome sighed,
"Grandpa! He's just a friend trust me! Besides, I would never date a guy like him. He's rude, always has an attitude, he's a hot head, and not to mention he cheats off my work in class! Do you know how long it takes me to understand that kinda stuff?! That's my work!!"
Kagome accidentally broke her chopsticks and grabbed a new pair, continuing to eat her food.
Sota and Grandpa kept eating their food slowly.
Hours had passed and Kagome was laying in bed looking at the jewel Kikyo had left her.
"Why do I have to keep it? She could've given it to somebody else, just not me..." Kagome thought alone in her dark room. She rolled on her side putting the jewel on her dresser.
Her mom came in,
"Sorry if I woke you, but I forgot to give you a letter I found in the mailbox. Goodnight."She put the letter on her desk and kissed Kagome's forehead, walking out of her room. Kagome reached over and grabbed the letter, immediately opening it. She turned on her desk lamp.
It read...
Dear Kagome,
By the time you read this, I will be gone and I didn't know if we would meet again, so I wrote you this letter. I have true reasons to why I gave you that necklace. Not a lot of people know about this but, it is very rare, making it worth a lot of money. And it is rumored that it will eventually grant you one wish. I've already had one person try to steal it from me, Inuyasha..."
-
Kagome paused her reading and was shocked, "Inuyasha?!"
-
"...until we started dating. And Inuyasha may not have told you but he tried to again and I had to draw the line. He claimed that it wasn't him, but who else could it have been? I was in the hallway until someone passed by me, hitting me hard in the shoulder and I hit the ground. I couldn't see clearly, but Inuyasha was the only one who knew about the Shikon Jewel. Anyhow, please protect it, and don't tell anyone about it, especially Inuyasha. Thanks always...
