The boy started to close in on Kagome, not slowing down.
"Hey watch out! You're in my way!" he yelled at her.
Kagome paused and scooted to the side quickly, the boy flying by her.
"Why was he in such a rush?" she wondered.
Two other boys were trudging behind, suffering from shortness of breath.
"K-koga, wait for u-us!" one of them sighed.
They continued to run after him, as Kagome stood awkwardly against the wall.
"So, his name was Koga," Kagome thought, now walking to the cafeteria.
The purple gem sparkled lightly in the hallway, its color lifting as she smiled wide. It started to get sunnier outside as Kagome opened the doors to the cafeteria.
There were people fighting in the lunch line,
"That's my bean bun!" one would argue.
"I got that first!" said another.
"It's a good thing I packed my lunch," Kagome chuckled inside.
The floors were covered in food scraps and the walls had stains on them.
Kagome's phone buzzed, taking it out and reading a text that Sango sent her.
"We are in the back, its less crowded. C'mon :) !" it read.
Kagome went deeper in the cafeteria, the food and wall stains starting to clear up and fade. She went further, seeing it was cleaner and nicer than before. She could smell a nice lavender scent in the background, her eyes shining.
"There you are!" Sango smiled with a wave. "What took you so long?"
"Oh sorry! I didn't realize I took so long..." Kagome scratched her head.
Kagome tucked her necklace under her shirt and sat down beside Sango at their table.
"So who all sits back here?" Kagome asked.
"Mostly juniors and seniors sit back here, but there will sometimes be sophomores just like us," Sango answered.
Kagome took out her bento box. She had grilled fish with a side of rice and cooked vegetables.
"Wow that looks really good!" Sango complimented.
"Thanks! My mom made it," she replied.
The girls overheard someone walking through the door, seeing it was Inuyasha.
"I'll be right back Sango," Kagome said leaving the table.
Kagome went up to Inuyasha and smiled lightly,
"Hey Inu-" she paused seeing that there was a girl holding his arm and leaning on him.
"Kikyo?!" She thought alone.
Kikyo looked at her,
"Oh hello Kagome."
"You guys know each other?" Inuyasha asked.
"Well uh, sorta," Kagome answered flustered.
Kagome's cheeks turned pink as she held her hands over them,
"I um...I have to go, I'll be seeing you two later."
Kagome walked away back towards Sango and sat down, resting her head on her arms.
"What's wrong Kagome?" Sango asked.
"Oh it's nothing, don't worry!" Kagome answered her.
Miroku slid beside Sango eating a sandwich,"How's it going babe?"
"Oh great," she said sarcastically, her face full of disgust.
Kagome started thinking to herself,
"Why did I get so confused when I saw them together? Maybe it's because I saw them when I think I wouldn't? Either way, I thought Inuyasha wouldn't let anyone too close to him like that..."
Suddenly, a pop was heard in the cafeteria. Kagome turned to see that Sango had slapped Miroku in the face.
"Can't you just be normal?!" Sango yelled at him.
Miroku laughed lightly, rubbing the hand mark off his cheek,
"Oh my dear Sango, your sense of humor is brilliant!"
"This guy must not be able to take a hint..." Kagome sweat dropped.
As lunch continued on Kagome got up to go to the bathroom to fix her hair before class started. She got in and looked in the mirror seeing someone behind her.
"Kikyo?"
"You have something of mine," Kikyo stated.
Kagome looked at her strangely, turning around.
"That necklace is mine."
"Oh you're the owner!" Kagome said taking it off.
"Wait."
Kagome paused and looked at her, "Don't you want it back?"
Kikyo grinned at her,
"I want you to keep it."
"But Kikyo, it's yours," Kagome said.
"Yes but, not anymore. I feel that it suits you best," Kikyo reasoned.
Kagome was confused but put it back around her neck.
"Um I should get back to my friends now," Kagome said leaving.
Kikyo looked in the mirror and smiled, "I know she'll take good care of it." Kagome sat back down with Miroku and Sango, finishing up her lunch.
"How did she get that necklace?! No matter I will get it back somehow," a man said in the distance.
"Naraku what are you staring at?" a guy asked him.
"It's the jewel I want, will you help me get it Byakuya?" he asked.
"Why of course cousin," he replied.
