The lunch bell rang and everyone was heading to fourth block. Miroku, Sango, and Ayame walked together to class.
"Where the heck are those two?" Sango asked.
"Who, Kagome and Inuyasha?" Ayame questioned.
"Yea, I guess we will meet them in class," Miroku said as they kept going.
When they all walked in, Inuyasha and Kagome were behind them.
Class had started and everyone was working on their own thing. Kagome was going over her lines for the play,
Inuyasha was folding paper airplanes in the corner, sitting next to her.
"Kagome, are you excited to find out what part you got?" Sango asked.
"Well I hope I got the lead role, but I'm sure I won't get it," Kagome sighed.
Sango rolled her eyes and sat down next to her,
"Don't be crazy Kagome, you're great! And I'm sure you'll get some kind of part in the play!"
Kagome grinned widely at Sango as Mr. Jakotsu walked in from backstage,
"Class I will post the parts you received here on the bulletin board."
Most of the students ran immediately to the board and analyzed the paper. Kagome pushed through the crowd and read to herself:
Cinderella cast!
-

Prince Charming: Inuyasha
Mouse 1: Hojo
Mouse 2: Koga

-
Kagome's eyes widened and she jumped for joy,
"I got Cinderella! I got Cinderella!"
"See I knew you could do it!" Sango chuckled lightly.
"What the? Mr. Jakotsu, why is Hojo two parts, and one a girl?" Sango asked
"We ran out of parts so he volunteered. Gosh what a great student," Mr. Jakotsu said dreamily.
"Hey!" Inuyasha rampaged through everyone and up the the teacher.
"Why the hell am I the prince?!" Inuyasha shouted at him.
"We were running out of cast members, and besides, you have the looks to be the prince," Mr. Jakotsu said avoiding eye contact.
Miroku came up to them both and sighed,
"And I don't look good enough to be the prince?!?"
"I can't believe I got the Fairy Godmother!!" Sango squealed.
Koga went up to Inuyasha, Miroku, and Mr. Jakotsu complaining,
"Why the hell am I a mouse?!" Koga sneered.
"At least you're not a dumb, sissy prince!" Inuyasha shouted at him.
"Or at least you're not some lame side character..." Miroku whined.
As the boys complained, Sesshomaru approached them and slightly smirked, flipping his longer hair.
"And why the hell is he the king?!" Koga argued.
Meanwhile Hojo was skipping across the auditorium, excited he got to play two parts in the play.
Mr. Jakotsu sighed thinking to himself,
"So this is my theater class...I wish myself luck with these kids."
After awhile, the boys sat down complaining to each other while the girls looked over their lines and practicing them.
Kagura approached Mr. Jakotsu and glared at him,
"I want to do backstage..."
"I'm sorry Kagura but like I said, we were short on roles. Don't worry I will only give you a few lines," he reassured.
The bell rang and everyone was heading outside.
"So Sango are you available this weekend??" Kagome asked.
"No sorry, I have to babysit..." Sango sighed.
"Maybe I can help?" Kagome offered.
"Woah seriously?! That would mean so much to me! In fact I'll split the money in half and we can share!" Sango smiled.
"Oh you really don't have to do that," Kagome said.
"No way, I'm gonna! It'll be more fun with you there anyway!" Sango said happily.
"Well I'm gonna head home, see you tomorrow!" Kagome said waving goodbye.
Kagome was walking when she heard someone crying. She looked across the street and saw a girl on a park bench by the bus stop.
"K-kikyo?!" Kagome thought in shock.
Kagome looked in both directions and crossed the road on the crosswalk.
"Hi Kikyo," Kagome slowly said.
Kikyo looked up and wiped her eyes,
"Hello Kagome."
"Kikyo, are you okay?" Kagome asked concerned.
"I'm sure you heard the conversation between Inuyasha and I," she frowned.
"Yeah I'm so sorry Kikyo," Kagome said, not able to look her in the eyes.
The bus started to pull up and opened the doors for Kikyo as she got up with a couple of suitcases.
"My father and sister are waiting for me at the airport," Kikyo stated walking toward the doors.
Kagome clenched her fist,
"Kikyo wait!"
She turned around and faced Kagome,
"What is it?"
"You and I are...second cousins," Kagome finally said.
Kikyo smiled wide,
"I'm glad I'm related to such a great person like you," she said tears forming in her eyes.
Kagome stared out at her as Kikyo walked up the steps.
Kikyo had a tear roll down her cheek as she spoke her final sentence,
"Take care of Inuyasha..."
Kagome stood there as the bus left and turned to the next street.
"Don't worry Kikyo, I promise, I will take care of Inuyasha..." Kagome thought to herself.
