Chapter 30: Date?

It was almost three o'clock and Kagome was still getting ready upstairs. She got out of the shower and was drying herself in her room. Kagome already had her outfit laid out thanks to Sango. She decided to wear a mint colored dress with a little sleeve and white flats. The dress had lace near the bottom and outlined her sleeves. She finally knew what to do with her hair. Kagome sat back in her chair and grabbed a hair tie. She braided her hair slowly and tied it up nicely.

Kagome looked out the window to see the sun shining brightly.

"It's gonna be a good day!" Kagome assured herself.

Inuyasha was already walking to her house and had his hands stuffed into his pockets, he approached her front door and knocked.

"Just a minute!" a voice called on the other side of the door.

Inuyasha sighed lightly as he looked up at the trees and scratched his head. The wind was lightly blowing through his hair and it smelled of sweet tree sap. The leaves started to turn different shades of yellows and reds. The door finally opened and it was Mrs. Higurashi, smiling wide as usual.

"Oh Inuyasha you're here. I'll run up and get Kagome for you. Please come in!" she said as she opened the door wider for him to walk in.

Inuyasha entered her home and saw it was nice and clean as usual. Her mom yelled for Kagome to come downstairs and Inuyasha suddenly saw Kagome walking down the staircase. Inuyasha's eyes widened as he saw her gracefully walk up to him. He didn't notice that he started turning pink in the cheeks. Kagome blushed as well, her foot grinding in the ground.

Inuyasha blinked and turned away from her,

"Ready to go?"

She smiled,

"Yep."

They both left her house as her mom waved goodbye to them. Inuyasha gazed at her once again and couldn't keep his cheeks from turning red.

"She's so dressed up," does this mean that much to her?" he thought to himself.

"So how do I look?" Kagome asked him.

Inuyasha stuffed his hands back in his pockets,

"Uh... fine."

As they turned the corner and passed their tree Kagome stopped for a moment and looked at Inuyasha,

"So, what are we gonna do?"

Inuyasha shrugged and looked at her,

"Do you wanna get something to eat?"

Kagome nodded and they both headed into town to find somewhere to eat. Inuyasha looked over across the street and saw WcDonalds.

"How about there?" Inuyasha asked, pointing at the fast food restaurant.

Kagome sighed a little bit, but in the end it didn't matter to her,

"Sure."

"Cool. It's a place I can actually afford," Inuyasha laughed lightly to himself.
