"Hiii," Ariana chimed in her airy voice, pulling Jimmy in for a hug. Y/N noted that she initiated it, and Jimmy simply complied.
Throughout Ariana's segment, Y/N put her mind on autopilot, ready to tune in at any sign of affection from the pair.
"A-ha-ha-ha-ha, you're so funny, Jimmy," said Ariana, placing her hand on Jimmy's arm. Y/N wanted to burn her eyes through that tanned, hairless limb.
Another moment occurred about five minutes later. "Awh, I love you Jimmy," Ariana cooed.
The sentence sort of sent Y/N plummeting down into reality. For the past day, she'd been in this little bubble with only Jimmy, Kay, and Don. Everything seemed so exclusive to just the four of them. It made her forget that Jimmy had a life outside of herself. He was literally a celebrity. He had more friends than she'd ever have. More admirers than she'd ever have. Jimmy had love in his heart for people he'd known for years, people who meant more to him than Y/N did, and probably always would. She'd felt to special waking up next to him. She really felt like he cared about her more than he had anyone, and more than anyone had ever cared for her.
She began to filter in the conversation between Ariana and Jimmy again.
"Wait, Jimmy, remember that time when...wait, I don't know if I can say it," Ariana giggled, glancing sheepishly from Jimmy to the audience. Y/N could've sworn that for a split second, they'd made eye contact.
But someone else made eye contact with Y/N for definite. It was Jimmy. Then looked back to Ariana. "Yeah, maybe you shouldn't say it. The audience doesn't need to know." He smiled awkwardly, as if he was trying to laugh over nervousness.
"No, it's fine I'll just say it." Ariana folded over laughing, the dimples in her cheeks deepening. "Remember when I tried to make out with you in your apartment—"
"Ohh, oh, no," Jimmy shouted, waving his arms around in an embarrassed but jokey manner to signal her to stop telling the story.
Y/N's heart sank. There was no point in cutting Ariana's sentence off, now. She'd already said it.
Jimmy laughed along with Ariana, but his gaze drifted to Y/N again. For a split second, he nodded at her subtly and blinked, before turning back to Ariana and continuing his act.

For the remainder of the show, Y/N shut her mind off. She couldn't bear to endure anymore of Ariana and Jimmy's sick relationship. She was startled into her conscious when the audience raised to their feet and began applauding. Jimmy was ending the show. He started making his way up the centre stairs in the audience towards the back door towards the exit. He was smiling, thanking, and shaking hands, but when he got to Y/N, he replaced his cheesy grin with a fiercely loving glare, took her palm into his, and squeezed.

Question: Do you think Y/N is as important to Jimmy as he is to her?
