Y/N's heart sank. "Am I?" she squeaked.
"Well, that's what they're saying on TMZ." The guy shrugged his shoulders and began to walk back off into the party.
"Wait." Y/N grabbed his arm. "Can you show me what it says?"
"I haven't got it up on my phone anymore, sorry, babe." He turned back around and disappeared into the crowd.
Y/N turned to Jimmy, her face filled with pure fear. "What does he mean? I need to see this."
"Calm down, whatever it is, you're okay," Jimmy comforted.Y/N snatched her phone out of her pocket. Three new texts sat in her inbox from Sonia and Alice.
MESSAGES
SONIA: Are you okay? What happened? Text me when you see this!
ALICE: Hey, I hope they didn't lock you away in jail. That was pretty crazy earlier. What did you even do, drugs with Jimmy or something? BTW did you ask him about the party??
ALICE: Hello??Y/N ignored the messages, briefly cursing Alice in her head for being a user, and shakily opened the web browser of her phone and typed in Jimmy's name. She clicked the news tab, and an article published that very day popped up. The title read: JIMMY FALLON IS INTO PROSTITUTES?
Her heart thumping so hard she could feel her blood pulsating through her fingertips, Y/N held her phone out in front of herself and Jimmy to show him the article. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and they both read it together, the party pumping its rainbow lights and pounding sound around them.
A source says the sweet Jimmy Fallon we thought we knew invited this sex worker into his secret apartment last night. Pictured here, she's seen dressed in a promiscuous slip dress with a dishevelled face of smudged eyeliner.
Attached to the text was a folder of images. The ones from Jimmy's meeting. In the first, Y/N looked natural and unsuspecting. In the second, she looked fearful and shocked. The third...she looked manic, hanging out of the window of the building with a wild expression.
How humiliating. She had absolutely nothing against prostitutes themselves, but being mistaken for one who worked for Jimmy on the internet when she had been putting so much effort into playing hard to get really embarrassed her. And those photos...they were terrible! What if Jimmy got 'the ick' and, after seeing how the rest of the public viewed her, realised how uncool and ugly she really was?
"I'm so sorry about this, Y/N," Jimmy said, gently taking her her phone and switching it off. "At lease you look pretty in the pictures."
Y/N questioned every compliment she'd ever received from Jimmy since he was telling her those photos were pretty. "No I didn't. I look so bad that the article thinks my dark circles are smudged eyeliner! And is this dress really promiscuous? If anything, Kay said it looked long!"
Jimmy laughed a bit, and pulled Y/N into a tight hug, swaying from side to side. Y/N embraced the feeling of his body against hers, and breathed in his smell of tobacco and alcohol, whichever drink he had been given by one of the party guests. It must have been a strong one, as he sounded a little tipsy, laughing under his breath. Y/N heard it vibrating with her face pressed against his chest.
She thought to herself about how, of course Jimmy didn't see her any differently after the article. First of all, he was used to it himself. He had haters who made fun of him, but the way he reacted to them by ignoring them just made him even more attractive, which was what Y/N had decided to do now. Secondly, if Jimmy was the type of person to throw someone off just for something the media had written about them, she wouldn't have been in love with him in the first place. He was a kind person, and that's what made her fall for him. Of course, he had the tendency to have his moments get mad at people, as she had seen online, but so did anyone. In fact...the thought of Jimmy losing his temper at someone kind of turned Y/N on.
One thing that began to play on Y/N's mind, though, was the fact that TMZ knew she had slept in Jimmy's apartment that night. It made her uncomfortable. Jimmy was right not to let Don drive her home that night...the paparazzi or reporters must have followed their car. Why were these people allowed to get away with stalking? Anyone else would get arrested for it, but as long as they labelled themselves as paparazzi, it was socially acceptable.
Out of the corner of her eye, Y/N noticed a head of blonde hair approaching her, and a head of black hair following suit. Y/N pulled slightly away from Jimmy's chest to get a better view. It was Alice and Sonia.
