There was no way Y/N would tell Kay what was really going on. She didn't trust her for a minute after that fire alarm incident.
"Nothing. I was just talking to a friend." Ex-friend, Y/N added in her head.
Kay nodded suspiciously, then sighed. "Look, I'm really sorry about helping to frame you for the fire alarm."
Y/N noticed how Kay specified that she only helped to frame her. She was obviously trying to make herself sound less guilty. Although Y/N felt sorry for Kay, she didn't forgive her. "Was it really worth it?" Y/N asked. "To have me arrested to stop Jimmy and I having a conversation that was inevitably going to happen soon, anyway?"
"No, it wasn't worth it," said Kay honestly. "But...that's the kind of person I am. When I'm passionate about something, those feelings overtake me. I listen to my heart, not my head. I act on impulse. I understand if you don't like me as a person for that, but it's the way I am, either way."
Y/N could tell, already. She could kind of tell since the moment Kay had confronted her after hearing Jimmy make Y/N moan in the shower. But that didn't change anything. "Kay, that's just an explanation, not an excuse, though. Where do you draw the line? At what point is it not okay for a bad person to continue to do bad things because it's just the way they are, just their personality?"
"I'm not saying it's okay. I know it's not. I know it's not an excuse. But you deserve an explanation, and maybe to see where I'm coming from. It's your choice whether to forgive me or not."
"I'll think about it," said Y/N softly. But she had already thought. Kay clearly only cared about people she had very strong feelings for, and Y/N wasn't one of them. She could never trust Kay not to hurt her. She'd always have to keep her guard up.
"Well, I just want you to know that I'm sorry," said Kay, before giving a small smile and leaving the room. Maybe Kay did care a little bit...or she was a really good actor. After all, it wasn't the first time she'd had to apologise to Y/N.
Y/N sighed and flopped down onto the couch. She had only just woken up and she had already had to argue with two people who had wronged her. She felt like a magnet for bad things. There were too many to list. Maybe they were just the universe compensating for giving her the best thing imaginable—Jimmy. It had to be evened out to make it fair for everyone else, somehow.
She would honestly rather be asleep, though. And stay asleep. At least she'd be in Jimmy's arms, even if she wasn't conscious to experience it.
After a few deep breaths, she decided to text back Sonia. Although she wished Sonia would stand up against Alice and stop being such a pushover, she knew she was a good person, really. She did stick with Alice during Alice's breakdown in fear of her causing damage to anything or anyone, so Y/N had to give her credit for that. Y/N couldn't have done the same thing, and she actually felt really bad that Sonia had had to put up with it.
CREATE MESSAGE
Y/N: Hi, Sonia. Sorry I didn't reply last night, I didn't even check my phone. I hope it all ended up okay. Yes, I know what secret Alice would've been talking about exposing me for, but don't worry, it's all under control. Call me whenever you want. :)Y/N pressed send and made her way into the bathroom to get ready. That was when she vaguely remembered the dream she'd had that night. It was that she'd been in the shower and her and Jimmy had gone all the way. The dream was great, but it didn't compare to real life. Just kissing Jimmy in real life felt better than having sex with him in her dream. It had to be the real Jimmy, his own thoughts and movements and choices, not the one from her imagination. The dream was hazy, anyway. Perhaps her brain wanted to save all of the details for the real experience.

When Y/N headed back to the bedroom to lie down again, Jimmy was awake. He still made her incredibly nervous, especially now that the alcohol had wore off. She didn't have her confidence juice anymore.
"Good morning," Jimmy said.
"Good morning. Are you feeling okay?" Y/N placed her hand on Jimmy's forehead for a moment.
"Yeah, but I think I have a hangover."
"Oh, I know you have a hangover."
The both of them smiled, and Jimmy pulled Y/N into him.
"You didn't deny it when I called you my girlfriend last night," said Jimmy.
Y/N's heart beat like mad.
"I just assumed it was the drinks talking," she said.
"It wasn't the drinks talking if you don't want it to have been."
