From Ayla Leone's Point of View (Bishamon)

Roxy and I faced each other in the arena, we were just a dozen feet apart, my mind thinking about countermeasures to her ice magic.

Plant magic won't be useful, let alone water magic, maybe even my wind magic won't work, because the colder the air the harder it is to shape and control the wind.

Roxy was my natural predator.

The wind is my best option so I have to bet all my chips on it.

A shimmering blue aura enveloped Roxy, coated my hair in a green and blue aura thanks to my dual affinity, injected mana from my dimensional ring and took out my staff, seeing that I intended to fight at close range Roxy took a foil from her dimensional ring .

From the point of view of Lancelot Winey (Ayanokoji)

She was in the tunnel that gave access to the battlefield watching Esdeath and Roxy, as soon as Cynthia announced the start of combat Esdeath's body trembled and disappeared. Ayla reacted instantly, her form glowing just in time to dodge my teammate's first attack.

Wherever Esdeath's foil passed, the ice spread, in a few moments the entire battlefield was frozen, hindering Ayla's mobility.

With a flick of Esdeath's left wrist, the temperature dropped and she was freezing the very particles of air around the battlefield.

Although Elves have much more affinity for mana than we humans, the fact that they have a genetic difficulty achieving the highest form of the three basic elements they can manipulate makes ice their natural weakness.

Ayla was a genius, I know that just by looking at her, but she still hasn't been able to overcome her genetics and reach the superior form of her affinity elements and for that alone she won't be able to beat Esdeath.

It may not seem like it, but magic/mana is directly linked to science the better you understand your affinity element the better your control over it.

Because of my enormous knowledge of chemistry, I can manipulate all four elements and their deviant forms.

Snapping out of my thoughts as a massive boom erupted from the battlefield, I was so immersed in my thoughts that I hadn't even realized that the battle between Ayla and Esdeath was nearing its climax.

Esdeath was quite out of breath even though he had the elemental advantage Ayla was not an easy opponent to face as her fighting style was unique.

As Ayla couldn't use the wind for large scale attacks, she focused her use around her, she was manipulating the air particles around her to increase her speed and create small spells to counter Esdeath's attacks.

Ayla would reach her limit before Esdeath, as her spell required a lot of mana and concentration.

"It's over," I muttered to myself as Ayla's spell failed, the failure lasting no more than an instant, but that instant was all Esdeath needed.

In the split second that Ayla took her eyes off Esdeath so she could focus on the wind mana particles, she lost that fight, Esdeath moving like a silent, deadly serpent.

When Ayla's eyes returned to focus on Esdeath, it was too late My teammate was already right in front of her, the ice particles gathered in her fist, left, he punched Ayla right in the pit of her stomach, she didn't just stop with that punch, she landed several other punches at an important point, Esdeath only stopped attacking when she was sure Ayla was going to fall unconscious to the ground.

As soon as Ayla fell unconscious to the ground, Cynthia ended the fight, Ayla quickly regained consciousness.

Applause echoed throughout the stadium, unlike the other times everyone present was clapping, they were not just celebrating Esdeath's victory, but the battle she and Ayla had given everyone.
