From the point of view of Kathlyn Glayder
"We almost died from that puddle of black goo." Gideon said as he surveyed the small puddle of black liquid in front of us.
"What did you expect?" Lancelot questioned filling a vial with the black liquid.
"You know one was expecting a lake like this black." admitted Gideon.
"Stand back" Lancelot asked, as soon as we got a good distance away from him a black jet ran down his arm before hitting the ground the sound of an explosion penetrated our ears, and a huge oil slug started to come out of the ground . "The lake you seek Gideon is right beneath your feet."
"Got it, what are we going to do now?" Gideon's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Kathlyn, does the beast clearing belong to anyone?" asked Lancelot
"No." I replied, the collar of wild beasts was a land without law and owner, here was the habitat of wild beasts so none of the three kingdoms wanted to take over this land to their territory, as it was a very dangerous place, nobody wanted to live here.
"So I can claim this land as mine?"
"By the law I think it's okay for you to do that." He said
"We finally found you." Caera's tired voice entered my ears, I turned my head in the direction the voice had come from beside her were Emilly and Nattie.
"Now that everyone has arrived, let's set up the tents." Lancelot said taking three tents out of his dimensional ring.
"Aren't we going back?" Iris raised an eyebrow.
"You saw how rough the wind is, there's no way we can go back with it in these conditions, and we're at least twenty kilometers from the nearest teleportation portal, so it's impossible to walk back." explained Lancelot
Agreeing with Lancelot's views, Iris licentiously nodded her head.
"Gideon and Nettie are going to look for some wood so we can make a fire, I won't go far from here, because we are right in the center of Valeria das Feras." Asked for Iris.
"OK." Gideon said before he and Nettie broke away from us.
While the rest of us set up the tents I felt a distance between me and Lancelot, it was strange because we weren't five meters away, it was like there was something he wanted to talk about but couldn't.
As night fell we all sat around the fire, the sounds of crackling logs filling my ears.
We all chatted happily about the most diverse subjects while we waited for the fish to be ready.
The fire in the fireplace was weak because of the wood was running out, realizing that Lancelot got up and said: "I'll get some more pieces of wood."
"I'll go with you." He said before following him.
As soon as we pulled away considerably from the camp I called him by his name, he stopped walking and glared at me.
"What do you want to tell me?" I questioned him
"You are really insightful." He cracked a half smile. "Well the world is changing Kathyln and we have to keep up with this change or we will be swallowed by it, and for that to not happen I have to get stronger."
The war.
The treachery of the dwarven king and queen caused a rift that would not soon heal in Dicathian society, but the courtship of the beasts was what decreed that there would be a future war.
An attack of that magnitude was practically a declaration of war, I was forgetting about the betrayal of the church of the three gods.
The more I think about the situation that this continent is in, the more worried I get.
I lost my father and brother and I couldn't lose anyone else, but for that I had to get stronger.
Strong enough to walk side by side with the person in front of me, something I couldn't do right now.
"You're leaving, aren't you?" I said, hoping I was wrong.
"Yes, Kathlyn..."
"I know, you... will go on this journey alone."
"Moonlight will take the reins on this project tomorrow, but I would still appreciate it if I could help her, I don't know what problems may occur in my absence."
"Don't worry, I'll take your place here so you can concentrate on your training, I just ask..." I turned my back to Lancelot. "Send me news from time to time, and if something happens...I'll help you right away."
Tears filled my eyes, I hate myself for being weak, instead of saying goodbye I wanted him to call me to accompany him on this adventure, but with me by his side his training will be very effective
"Hahaha, looks like you've grown a lot." Lancelot said in a teasing tone that didn't suit him, "Thank you." He said in a more serious tone, I could feel his gaze on my back.
Tears began to silently flow from my eyes as I walked back to camp without even looking back.
I couldn't do that, Lancelot was heading towards the future and so should I, I couldn't look back, my eyes should always go forward no matter what happens.
