The arrogance that Dawsid and Glaudera the former king and queen of the dwarves normally emitted was nowhere to be seen on their faces, in the green they were broken.

So I wasn't surprised when the two fell to their knees on the ground and in that moment I realized something, this trial was over before it even started.

There was only one reason for this judgment to occur and that was to gain the loyalty of the dwarves, killing Dawsid and Glaudera in the shadows could lead to many problems, such as a civil war to see who would occupy the throne of Darv but without a doubt the worst scenario was the one that the dwarven folk assumed that Sapin and Elenoir had banded together to eliminate their leader.

Though Dawsid and Glaudera were not people admired in Darv like the Eraliths in Elenoir, but with the people liking them they were their leaders and had two spears under their control.

Dawsid and Glaudera were most likely tortured to the extreme to make them wear those apathetic expressions, but their bodies were most likely healed by an emitter to avoid marks and scars thus making people not think about it.

Smile, that was a well thought out strategy.

From Priscilla Glayder's point of view

hours before the trial

Alduin slammed the door as he stormed into my private meeting room.

"Calm down, Alduin this is not the time to snap at something we can't change." Ordered but as expected my order was not attentive.

"Where's that bloody Dawsid?" roared Alduin.

"Honey calm down." Merial asked entering the room, from her ragged breathing he probably tried to keep up with her hurried husband only she couldn't breathe.

"How will I calm down if the mile was kidnapped and dozens of people from my body were killed." Alduin said.

"I lost my husband and son and I'm not as euphoric as you Alduin." I spoke coldly.

"E-eh..."

My speech made Alduin speechless.

The king of the Elves took a deep breath and sighed thus calming down.

"Sorry for my inappropriate behavior."

"Much better." I stood up, "if you really want an answer to your question follow me." I pulled a book from the shelf behind me only to reveal a passage and a flight of stairs.

"That's the best way to avoid unwanted glances." I commented before entering the passage, Alduin and Merial came right behind me.

The flight of stairs led to the castle's dungeon where prisoners of war and traitors were held.

The walls were a dark gray stone, which made the narrow staircase feel even more cramped and claustrophobic.

"What are we going to do with Mica is Olfred? Losing two spears is too big a setback for us to handle." Merial said worriedly.

"Before thinking about the worst case scenario we have to take care of their interrogation." She said trying not to think about the worst case scenario. "However, Dawsid and Glaudera's interrogation must take priority at this time to ensure the dwarves' loyalty. Does anyone think otherwise?"
