The morning arrived clear and cold, with a harshness that suggested the end of summer and the arrival of autumn.

"Are you sure I didn't come?" I asked my bond.

"Yes, I have to train."

"Okay take care."

After saying goodbye to Fluger I turned and started walking towards the Lanceler gym.

"What I said about getting caught, Lancelot." A voice sweated to my left, I turned my head only iris staring at me with an amused smile.

"Well I didn't think I'd find you on the shores of Mirror Lake, what are you doing here?"

"Just checking."

"Wait we're not training here right?" I asked as I approached my teacher.

"Mirror Lake has the strange ability to absorb mana, that's why it was turned into a testing ground, there are buildings and caves in it. Making good use of them will be the key to victory."

"Then it will be an underwater battle."

"Don't you dare lose, I don't want Drossel mocking me."

"OK." I flashed a brief smile.

"Finally will start." Esdeath commented excitedly.

"My heart even raced!" Tessia said.

I spotted Yuki walking a few meters ahead of us, "Well maybe that's interesting."

"Oh, you excited Lancelot that's rare." Ayla said.

"I know it's stupid to say this, but don't be nervous." Iris commented as she opened the auditorium door.

As soon as we entered the auditorium for the exchange opening ceremony, we noticed that all the Lanceler academy students were emitting a tense aura.

"Looks like we're not the ones who are nervous." Kize commented sarcastically making us all laugh.

We all sat down, while Iris walked up to the stage, up there was a Professor from the Lanceler academy he was a middle aged man, he had a beard and gray hair, he was wearing a three piece suit that fit his body perfectly.

Iris greeted him with a professional smile on her face, after which the man clapped his hands to get our attention.

"Good morning, I'm James Brik and I will lead the exchange together with Professor Iris, today's test will take place at Mirror Lake."

"Today we are going to do a test called King and Queen, this test is basically a fight between teams, you will choose someone to be your king or queen, and if the representative's uniform whistles the team will be immediately disqualified." Iris' face turns incredibly serious, "If anyone chooses to ignore this warning and continue to fight or cast spells, it will lead to immediate expulsion and other possible consequences. This rule applies to anyone present here, so burn this rule into their brains." All of you are at a level where protecting yourself with mana shouldn't be a problem. Let me reiterate this, but this gear doesn't protect you, so don't rely on it as a source of protection." She announces it to everyone else in the class as well. Clearing the throat. "Am I being clear!?"

"Yea!" we all said in unison

"Good! Now, you guys get ready."

The outfit consists of a fitted jacket and a series of straps that I wrap around my legs. The jacket also had sleeves made from some special straps that I was supposed to wrap around my arms. I was having trouble putting on the arm straps when Kathlyn silently appears and helps me tie the straps around my right arm.

"Thanks." I thanked

"You're welcome." Said the ice princess.

"Everyone Come here." Iris ordered, and we did as she asked, "We can't shame the name of the Xyrus academy. So take this test seriously, or make the practice even harder for anyone who doesn't meet the standards!" Iris smiles evilly, "who will be our team leader?"

"To me it does not matter." Esdeath commented.

"How about Kathyln or Tessia?" So we can be the princesses' knights?" suggested Kize playfully.

"What did I say about taking this test seriously."

"Well that won't make a difference Iris." I commented.

"What do you mean Lancelot?"

"Nobody here is going to work as a team, and maybe that's our biggest weakness, we're too proud to do that, in the end everyone will fight their own fights, well I'm not against that as long as we don't lose."

"In fact, never even trained together if we now try to adapt our fighting styles to a team fight, our efficiency will be drastically diminished."

"Well if that's what you think, I won't object, so Kathyln will you accept to be the queen?"

"Yea."

"Well now let's go to Mirror Lake."

As soon as we reached the Mirror side, we spotted the Lanceler academy students, carefully checking their equipment and magic tools.

"Lancelot, good to see you again." Yuki's voice sounded beside me.

"I say the same."

"The king or queen of their teams step forward." James asked, Kathyln did as he asked, Lanceler Academy's handle was Peter the arrogant student I'd met the day before.

"Looks like it's finally starting." He said quietly, as he injected mano into my dimensional ring and materialized Hades' wrath in my hand.

"Yes, take it easy with us." Yuki's gaze fell on my sword and she let out a hiss, "That's a nice sword you have there, Lancelot."

We stopped talking when Kathyln and Peter's auras thickened, which made us all do the same.

"Well let's get started." James spoke as the wind swirled around him and a layer of wind enveloped us all, "well now you can breathe underwater as I can't keep this spell active for long the battle will last for thirty minutes after which we will have a brief discussion and detail later."

I let out a whistle, I was truly impressed as James would filter the oxygen out of the water to thus give us the ability to breathe underwater, air manipulation is a variation of wind magic, although it is much more difficult. Breaking down the components of any element and trying to manipulate it directly is something only the most discerning and sensitive mages can do, and that while meditating in a perfectly calm and peaceful environment. After years of practice through meditation, the magician can begin to experiment in real-life situations, how to incorporate it into spells.

We all dove into the lake and take our positions.

Our team is located in the underwater city full of buildings and temples, while the Lanceler academy team is located near the underwater caves and mountains.

"Man, this is amazing." said Arthur.

"Yeah, we could never do that on Xyrus." Ayla spoke up.

"I never imagined that one day I would fight in the water." Esdeath spoke.

James' powerful voice imbued with sound magic echoes across the bottom of the lake, signaling us to begin.
