It was freezing! The winds shifted, bringing in the frigid air giving us an icy farewell as we prepared to depart.

My breath froze in front of me, rising and mixing with the icy mist around us. I pursed my lips and let go, watching him rise and disappear.

It was morning and we were all lined up in front of the dimensional portal that connected the floating city of Xyrus with the city of Kalberk.

Iris did a quick check and nods to herself with satisfaction before turning around and leading the class of 7 students to the teleportation gate a little further on.

After talking and confirming a few things with the guard, he adjusts a few things at the gate before Professor Iris signals us to enter the gate one by one, entering herself behind us all.

"Welcome to the city of Kalberk." A man of tall stature and proportions that many consider perfect, his physique is impeccable and that perfectly follows the beauty standards that are currently sold, from the neck up, we see very beautiful features and an appearance that is quite consistent with the rest of his body, her hair is a blue shade, although the presence of a single lighter strand, almost faded, half gray, half bluish, changes this play between light and dark a little. Finally, his eyes are quite unique due to the similarity they have with the eyes of a cat.

"Will you guide us, Drossel?" Professor Iris asked as she put her hands on her hips.

"Yes, I thought you preferred a familiar face." Drossel made a slight reference and formally introduced himself: "It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Drossel Manjiro, and I'm the director of the Lanceler academy."

Everywhere I looked, the pure white landscape regains its color and an immense lake appears before us. A cityscape surrounded by walls is situated on the lake.

The city of Kalberk was built on an island in the center of a lake. The vast lake is called Mirror Lake and is considered a sacred lake.

I appreciated the brief city tour Drossel was taking, his lively comments along with the magnificent scenery helped everyone relax.

A 5-meter wall of white stone enveloped the campus, surrounding it and separating it from the city. The gates opened onto a semicircular square, from which three paths branched off towards the cluster of school buildings.

Dozens of young men in black and blue Lanceler Academy uniforms were walking around the square, some chatting animatedly while others sat silently on benches or on the grassy grounds between the fences. A few of us gave him curious looks.

Beyond the plaza, opposite the gates, was the Student Administration Offices, a castle-like complex with a dozen peaks and turrets that seemed to loom over the entrance to the campus. The central path from the square led straight to this building, under an arched tunnel lit by glowing spheres that hung from the ceiling.

"Everyone should have the room number by now," Iris said when we reached the hallway where we'd been provided with quarters, "I know most of you are eager to get out of your rooms and have a good time, all I have to say is ... just don't get caught." She added with a wink.

"How did you become a teacher?" Drossel asked with an astonished expression caused by the flippant attitude in our teacher.

Rooms are split male and female with me Arthur and kize sharing a triple room. Tessia, Kathyln, Ayla and Esdeath are sharing a quadruple room.

After that we entered our rooms.

"It's not exactly a castle, is it?" Kize commented as he surveyed the room.

The accommodations provided for visiting students and professors were sufficient, if somewhat spartan.

"It was to be expected from military accommodations." Said Arthur as he jumped on the bed that he had now taken over.
