From Moonlight's point of view

"I'm tired of Beast Glade." I said, knowing my complaints irritated the huge wyvern flying beside me. "Moonlight is bored. E-N-T-E-D-I-A-D-A, bored."

"Silence." roared Fluger, startling the birds and beasts that were all around us. "Once we've tested the antidote we will return to Kalberk."

"I feel a lot of mana beasts northwest of here." I committed.

"Then let's go there right away."

Holding the spikes around Fluger's neck, I watched the mana betas below us and muttered, "Let's go."

My companion pulled his head back and let out a deafening roar, making the beasts shudder.

"Good showing." I committed before diving towards the ground.

A loud bang happened as I hit the floor, the particles on my arm transmuted into a lightbulb.

"KRRRRRR"

"GRRAWWWL"

"SNNNNNRRRR"

"GRAHK! GRAHK!"

Suddenly, horrible noises began to echo around us. Lurking behind the countless trees, rocks and small holes were countless numbers of red eyes.

The mana beasts looked horrible, with a thick gray fur coat, their 140 cm bodies looked like muscular mini gorillas. Their faces, however, were a mixture of boar snout and tusks with beady red eyes and long ears. With their thick and powerful lower jaws jutting out, you wouldn't think they would just be low-class mana beasts.

As dozens and dozens revealed themselves hidden, they started snapping their jaws while letting out low growls.

I ducked, bracing myself for a quick swipe in case any of them suddenly jumped.

"You shouldn't have any problems dealing with them Moonlight." Fluger who was already in his hawk form said from the top of a tall tree.

I leaned forward even lower and the wind mana began to swirl my arm which was now a sharp blade. On the same theory as a charged spring, I waited until I was right in front of the crossbows before the air released from the pressurized blade.

"FWWAAAHH!!" When the speed of my blade broke the sound barrier, I let out a hiss. This skill worked much better than I thought... I really shouldn't try skills in real battles.

The front line of the beasts, both in the air and on the ground, was either pushed back or cut in half.

"GRHHAAK!" Several others took the place of the fallen ones and ran towards me, using all four limbs now.

The mana beasts weren't very strong, so they were perfect as a training dummy.

But after thirty minutes I got tired of playing around and with lightning blast and wind I killed most of what survived wouldn't last alive but what three minutes.

My arm returned to normal, and the syringe that held the liquid we had hoped to serve as an antidote came to life in my hand.

I injected the liquid into one of the mana beasts and her body visibly withered her red eyes turned blue, but none of that was able to save her appearance, she was still hideous.

I smiled and put my hands on my hips and said, "It worked."

From the point of view of a Winey company worker

"We should go back." he insisted as the woods began to darken around us due to leaves from the large trees that blocked most of the sunlight from reaching us. "This area is very dangerous."

"We're going to be fine, or you're afraid of ghosts." My traveling companion spoke no more than a hint of a smile on his face.

I didn't take the bait. I was an old man, over fifty, and I had seen the nobles come and go.

"A dead man is a dead man." I replied, "We have nothing to do with the dead."

"How long to the nearest teleport gate?"

"Eight days, maybe nine." I glanced at the sky with disinterest.

"Stop the Carriage!" A shout from my traveling companion made me brake sharply.

In front of us was a man, we weren't able to see his face as he was under the thick black hood of his cloak.

An unease surged through me, "Who are you?"

"Just a man crazy about quality food and drink."

From Isabelle Winey's point of view

3 hours later

A memory from the past came to my mind when I read the report on the deaths of my two employees who were carrying a liquor carriage to Valden.

Well the drinks didn't matter, what really mattered was the way the two of them had died, both were missing their hearts and livers.

Only one person killed, people so selectively, and that person was Jack Board.

Jack Board is a legend in the underworld, as he murdered not only high-ranking nobles, but even royalty. Although he was just a distant member of the royal family... However, his techniques are so clever and complicated that they couldn't find any trace of him even after scouring the entire country.

This wasn't something that was possible simply by having the ability to murder people.

Having clients who would even request the murder of a member of a royal family meant he had at least that same influence in the underworld.

If we hadn't had the testimony of his attack survivors, we would have treated Jack as a fictional character.

'Why after so many years gone, Jack decided to reappear?' That question didn't leave my mind.

From Jack Board's point of view

The torrential rain blocked out all sounds except the wet thump of my boots on the cobblestone that made up the road.

The flickering fire of streetlights glowed nearby, a sight for sore eyes after hours of nonstop walking. I had just arrived in Valden, a small town in Sapin.

When I entered the city, I couldn't help but notice how empty the streets were, a small river that flowed close to the city made the area a great place to grow crops.

Suddenly a dark feeling like an omen that made my heart beat faster.

Soft footsteps crunching on the gravel path warned me that someone was approaching.

Suddenly a dark feeling like an omen that made my heart beat faster.

"You know you could try to be more discreet." I said stopping walking.

"I hear a lot of rumors about you Jack Board, I thank fate for crossing our paths." The man spoke as he approached me, a hood covering his face.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

"I want you to kill some for me."

"What kind of monster do you want me to kill?"

"I want you to kill a monster of the worst kind, the human kind."
