From Claire Bladeheart's point of view
It had been quite stressful today, I thought things would be quiet after the Disciplinary Committee was formed almost to the point of wondering if we were even needed, but recently some unforeseen circumstances have been brought to our attention.
As Esdeath and others are not here, I have been named interim leader.
Me and Kai, who is an expert in stealth, were gathering information on what looked like a radical group that was dissatisfied with the direction the academy was taking recently.
This group was made up of only humans, and of the few faces Kai was able to see, they were all from quite high noble families.
One particular nobleman that was located was named Charles Ravenpor.
He was relieved that Kize, Ayla and Tessia weren't here at the moment, because he was actually one of the main reasons this radical sect group started.
So I was grateful that Kize wasn't here—her quick temper would only get in the way rather than help.
There was a large faction of this group that thought that Dwarves and Elves did not belong in this academy.
We weren't allowed to confront them yet because of the lack of evidence and the fact that they didn't do anything bad, but from the looks of it, there were even some professors at this academy supporting them, making rash action even more difficult.
It wasn't until yesterday, however, that some of the radical group's members began to act.
It was one of my classmates, Denton as a little dwarf... was found beaten up and naked while hanging upside down from one of the statues on our campus for all passing students to see.
Principal Goodsky was still out, so his assistant Tricia and Professor Glory ended up pulling him down and making sure he was okay.
After being questioned, it turns out that he had been taken to one of the narrow alleys between the buildings at the back and beaten up by the radical group. From what he said, they wanted to "teach" him how to use mana properly, since they didn't think dwarves knew how to use mana.
My colleague ended up becoming a target dummy for various spells after resisting. After he finally passed out, they left him hanging upside down, naked, with a note covering his private part that he should leave the gym if he didn't want that to happen again.
Since then, having no choice but to act on behalf of Director Goodsky,
Tricia has been trying to contain the anger of several elven and dwarven parents who thought it had to do with racial discrimination, as the victim was a dwarf.
It goes without saying that this student is taking time off from school for the time being.
Why was this happening? What was the purpose of doing this? What is the advantage of dividing students like this? Did these students have such low self-esteem that they needed to take down someone they thought was better than them in order to feel better about themselves? Why the more power and privileges someone had, the more greedy he became? Is it naive of me to just want everyone to work together for our continent?
A dark and gloomy atmosphere took over the Disciplinary Committee room, the lack of Lancelot, Ayla, Esdeath, Kize, Arthur and Kathyln was being felt, the six were essential pieces for the functioning of this group.
They emanated a respect none of us here could convey, moreover, it was frustration that our actions were so restricted. Everyone was on high alert, Kai tried to figure out their meeting points, but once he had a clue, those places would always change. It looked like they would move with each meeting, sending each other some sort of code for the new location.
Teachers were useless. Most of them spoke in front of the disgruntled elven and dwarven parents, saying that they would do their best to find the culprit, but not being able to take direct action because the human parents were also dissatisfied with their children being accused of racial discrimination.
The teachers were too tied up in their little tug-of-war game to be of much help. When they try to be on both sides, they end up not being on either side. That was the problem with a school so heavily funded by the students' parents. The only one who had the authority to directly and openly oppose them was Principal Goodsky and she was nowhere to be found.
It seemed her disappearance had allowed this radical group to now openly cause a disturbance... because she wasn't here to stop them.
I reached the Disciplinary Committee room and went upstairs listening to Theo; the seat where Arthur normally sat, empty.
"Things are escalating faster than we thought. I had a feeling that was the case. The group is trying to create a stir before Principal Goodsky returns and temporarily hides afterwards," he announced as he leaned forward with his eyes. arms on the table. The dark circles under his eyes told me he hadn't gotten much rest in the last few days.
I sat down after everyone acknowledged my presence with a nod, too frustrated to greet me verbally.
"I've talked to several professors about the situation as you asked, but it seems you were right. None of them were willing to actively help find the crux of the problem. They're turning a blind eye to all this because of our 'lack of evidence. '." I reported through my teeth, running my fingers through my hair.
"We already know who one of the group members is, so why not take that idiot and interrogate him? I doubt he'll have the guts to last a few minutes before revealing some secrets." He grumbled Doradrea as he leaned back in his chair.
"I've tried that, but Charles Ravenpor is never alone these days. He's always surrounded by at least 5 minions. It will be impossible to secretly act with them there. Also, we need to think about our actions from the perspective of the whole academy. No matter how many things we could get away with, it wouldn't look good if a student was just accepted by us without a proper reason" Kai shook his head solemnly.
"What's the point of having something like the Disciplinary Committee if we can't do anything in cases like this?" Theodore slammed his fist down on the table, spilling a glass of water.
"There's no way. We know very little about what this group is planning to do and, more importantly, what they are capable of. We have very little information about them and it doesn't seem like there are just a few of them." Curtis sighed as he sat up.
"...We need to wait for Principal Goodsky to return." I said.
"Of course it would be the best thing to do, but we have no idea where she is, let alone when she will be back."
From Makima's point of view
I sat on one of the benches in the most remote part of the Xyrus Academy campus. After I sat down, a black cat sat on my lap.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, Draneeve."
"I don't call."
As Draneeve can't walk around the Xyrus Academy campus without attracting attention, he usually used this mini cat-shaped robot to observe the campus and communicate with us, so we don't have to worry about other people's eyes.
"Why did you call me here?" Draneeve asked.
"I want you to recruit a student, I've watched him these past few days and found him the perfect distraction."
"Who is this student?"
"Lucas Wykes."
