The flaming midnight!

From Isabelle Winey's point of view

"Fluger!" I called out to the winged beast's attention, "Where is Lancelot? I can't feel his mana or his presence."

"I don't know he looks like he was teleported somewhere."

"Shit."

"Trust your son Isabelle, he sure can take care of himself, focus on your battle."

"I know but..."

"Fight, stay alive and in the end we'll all come home together."

"ATTENTION, CITIZENS OF DICATHEN!" A harsh, high-pitched voice echoed throughout Mayburn. "AS YOU ALL ARE AWARE, YOUR BELOVED CONTINENT IS CURRENTLY UNDER ATTACK FROM MY PET. DO NOT FEAR, BECAUSE I AM FAIR AND MERCY!" His voice seemed to insult us when he said this because there was a child of us over six years old in the jaws of a wolf with discolored black fangs, a class B mana beast. Even when I conjured a pillar of flame from under the belly of the wolf with black fangs, still had time to take the child's life before collapsing. Gritting my teeth, I looked away from the bleary gaze of the child who was pleading with his eyes before he died. Her innards spilled from the fatal wound inflicted by the mana beast.

"WHILE YOU RAISE BOTH HANDS AND PLEDGE YOUR FAITHFULNESS TO ME, THE MANA BEASTS WILL NOT ATTACK KEKEKEKE!!!" He was enjoying the carnage that was going on in this town that had been so peaceful just hours before.

"Isabelle, I found this mage's position." Sam said coming up beside me, "he's in the old chapel of the church of the three gods."

The Church of the Three Gods is based on ancient scriptures that say that three beings appeared in the heavens and blessed the citizens of Dicathen with the ability to manipulate mana, devotees pray to each of the three gods asking for help or guidance, depending on their needs. Your necessity.

"Don't worry I'll take care of him."

The ground below mine became a domain for all the elements; some parts of the ground were scorched, with corpses still on fire, while other parts became a garden of rocks and ice spikes.

The metallic odor of fresh blood alongside the smell of burning skin and flesh mingled in the air, making the devastated landscape all the more unbearable.

Navigating the remains of my own spells and the corpses of fallen mana beasts some of which were the size of a small house became another challenge.

As I entered the old chapel my eyes widened in shock and disbelief. "You're...?!"

"It's been a long time Miss Winey."

"High Priest, why?"

The High Priest is the Father of the Faithful, the voice of the new gods on earth. The Most Devout, a council of the highest-ranking bishops, elects the High Priest usually from among its own members, although there have been notable exceptions. The elected high priest gives up his name, as faith believes he no longer needs a man's name, once he becomes the avatar of the gods. Normally, the high priest wears long white robes and a crown, however Urha the man who currently held this title wore a long black garment that covered his entire body, being similar to a priest's clothing, there are also some minor details, such as the long yellow band located on the lower part of the neck.

Urha is a tall man with unkempt shaggy hair and deep black eyes.

"What's the reason? Salvation for all souls is death! That's what I heard when I cried out to heaven for an answer."

"How bizarre is this you're talking about!"

"If the world is a mixture of colors then all that will eventually blow is darkness, after all if you mix all the colors it will always result in black."
