Max/Sadie imagines

Trance

Heavily based on the stranger things episode in season 4. If you haven't watched any of season 4 yet, DO NOT READ. Contains spoilers.

You're sat on Steve's car roof waiting for Max with Steve, Lucas and Dustin. You and Max were together but after everything with Billy, she separated herself from you and broke up with you.

But there's still a part of you that loves her. But you're in denial.

"I know you still love her." Steve says.

"What?"

"You still love her." Lucas saysn

"No i dont."

"Dont lie Y/n." Dustin says.

You look at Max and frown. The others frown.

"What's up?" Steve asks.

"Steve go check on her. Please I'm begging you." You say.

Steve nods and goes to check on her.

"Oh fuck. GUYS!!"

You jump off the car and run over. You slide along the grass and sit in front of her.

"MAX!"

You all start shaking her.

"MAX PLEASE! WAKE UP!" You yell.

"Dustin get Robin and Nancy. GO!" Lucas yells.

He runs to the car while you try everything in your power to wake Max up from the trance she's in. Dustin tries to get through to Nancy and Robin. He spends 10 solid minutes.

Meanwhile, in that world that she's in, she's running from Venca the monster that wants to kill her. She stands when she's away from Venca and starts looking around.

"Y/N! DUSTIN! HELP ME! PLEASE!" She cries out.

She keeps looking around.

"Y/N! WHERE ARE YOU?! PLEASE!" She calls out.

Back in the real world, Dustin runs over to you.

"What's her favourite song?!" He yells.

"The fuck has that gotta do with saving her life?!" You yell.

"Nancy and Robin said- nevermind! Just tell me her favourite song!" Dustin yells.

"Running up that hill! It's in her bag!"

He runs to the car and grabs her bag. Then runs back and tips it out. You grab the tape and the tape player. Then fumble around putting it in the tape player.

In the other world, Max is cornered by Venca and tied up against this pole.

"You're not getting away from me Max. You're here for a reason." Venca says.

In the real world, you get the tape in the player and put the headphones on her head. Then play the song at a loud volume. They sit back but you just keep hold of her hands. And then she starts floating.

"No. No. MAX WAKE UP!"

You heard from Eddie what happened to Crissy and you know what this means.

"MAX WAKE UP! PLEASE!"

"Y/n what's happening?" Steve asks.

You try reaching for her but she lifts to high.

"Where's she going?" Lucas asks.

"UP! AND INTO THE DEPTHS OF HELL LUCAS!" You yell.

"Shit is that-"

"YEAH! IT'S WHAT HAPPENS! SOMEONE LIFT ME PLEASE!"

Steve lifts you and you grab her but you cannot pull her down. You drop down and just sit there.

"Max...."

Your eyes begin watering up. And then she wakes up. She drops and you hold her close to you.

"I thought we lost you." You say.

"I'm still here. Dont worry. I'm still here." She says.

Her breathing is all over the place and she has a tight grip on your arms. You help her to the car and get in the back with her. She lays against you in the car and you just wrap your arms around her. She doesn't have the music playing.

When at Mike's house, you take her into the bathroom and help clean her up.

"You saved my life." She says.

"I didn't save your life. Nancy and Robin saved your life." You say.

"Hey."

You look at her.

"You put the tape in the tape player and you put the headphones over my ears. You saved my life." She says.

You just nod.

"I was calling out for you guys in there you know."

"I bet the first person you called to was Lucas." You say.

"No. The first person i called for was you." She says.

"Why?"

"Because i love you. You were my first kiss. You're my first love and the only person i will ever feel that way towards. I would never be able to feel that way towards Lucas or Dustin or anybody else for that matter. And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to realise that you're the one i love. But i do. I love you. More than you could possibly believe. Bet it sounds crazy doesn't it." Max says.

"Crazy doesn't even begin to describe it." You say.

She smiles a little and so do you. You both look at each other and make eye contact. Your smiles falter just a tiny bit and she kisses you. It's a gentle kiss. Nothing crazy. Just gentle. You kiss back and then she pulls back from the kiss.

"I missed that." You say.

Her smile grows.

"Yeah. Me too."

You both go back out into the main room and just sit with the others. You all just need to make sure she's safe now.
