Saving her life

You're sat in your bedroom. Bored out of your mind. So, you decide to go on a walk. You bring a bag with some stuff in it. Food. Water. Towel for the grass. While you're walking, you take a detour through the woods and get to the water.

You just sit on the grass and look out into lovers lake in front of you. You cant help but to just admire the water.

Hours pass. You then spot someone in the water in the middle. Not thinking about it, you just lay back. Then you hear yelling from the other side of lovers lake.

"MAX! MAX SWIM!"

You frown. Max as in Max Mayfield? You heard a rumour that maybe she likes you. You stand up and can only just make out the two figures at the other side of the lake. It's Dustin and Lucas.

"Ah shit."

They seem to see you and start calling to you.

"HELP HER! PLEASE! SHE'S DROWNING!"

Your heart sinks in your chest. You quickly pull off your shoes and jacket. You drop them and run into the water. You swim as fast as you can over to her but she's already under the water.

You look around hoping to see her on the surface. But no luck. You take in a deep breath and go under. You swim around for a minute before you see her.

You're running low on the ability to hold your breath but you dont care. You swim down to her and grab her. You then swim up to the surface and let out a deep breath and you cough too.

"Fuck."

You swim Max over to the side with your belongings at. You lay her on the grass and try to find a heart beat. It's there but it's faint. So, you perform CPR.

"C'mon Max. Wake up." You mutter.

While doing the mouth to mouth bit, she wakes up. And spits out the water into your face. You jolt back a little and spit out the water. You then sit her up so she's sitting sideways and she just throws up all the water she'd just intook.

Then she just sits there. She looks at you and her eyes wide.

"Y/n."

"Max."

"You saved my life?" Max asks.

"Yep. To be honest, i didn't even know you were drowning. I think it was Lucas and Dustin that were screaming at me to help you. I did try to get to you before you went under but i couldn't. So, you did take in more water than I'd planned." You say.

"Thank you. Thank you for saving my life." She says.

You shrug.

"I've saved other people before. Same damn lake every time." You say.

She chuckles a little. You grab the towel you brought with you and wrap it over her.

"Here. Keep warm. That water is cold in spring." You say.

"Thank you."

About 10 minutes later, Lucas and Dustin finally get to you both.

"Thank god you're okay." They say.

"Yeah. Y/n saved my life." Max says.

"Thank you so much." Lucas says.

"It's chill. But you might wanna get her to a doctor or hospital or something." You say.

Max spots blood on the side of your head. She stands up and starts messing with your hair.

"What are you doing?" You ask.

"Stay still." She says.

"Yes ma'am." You say.

She finds the cut and gently presses her hand against it.

"Ow easy." You say.

She pulls her hand away and her first three fingers are covered in blood.

"You need to get to a hospital. Your head is bleeding." Max says.

"It's fine. I've had worse." You say.

You walk Max home. Before you walk home, she writes her bedroom phone number on your now dry arm.

"Call me when you get home okay?" She says.

You nod. She places a kiss on your cheek and goes inside. You smile a little and go red.

"Awesome." You whisper.

You did call her when you got home.

Okay I'm just chilling and suddenly, BOOM. I get this idea. Thoughts? Byeee :)
