New kid jealousy. Request

Max is head over heels for you. She wants to tell you. Cos she wants to be with you. You're at your locker. She walks over.

"Hey." She says.

"Hey." You say.

She stands next to you.

"I heard there's a new kid coming to school." You say.

"Oh cool. Anyways. I kinda needa talk to you." Max says.

"Yeah what's up?" You ask.

She goes to speak but the bell signifying the first lesson rings out. Max sighs.

"Tell me at break okay?" You say.

She nods. You walk her to lesson and then go to your class. While you're sat writing, the new kid gets sat next to you. You look at her.

"Hello." You say.

"Hi."

You hold a hand out.

"I'm Y/n."

She shakes your hand.

"I'm Lizzie."

"Why dont you hang out with me till you find your feet here? Cos this place is full of assholes." You suggest.

She smiles.

"Yeah. Thank you. That sounds good." Lizzie says.

When break rolls around, you're showing Lizzie around school. You spot Max.

"Oh that's my best friend Max Mayfield. She's pretty cool." You say.

You walk over to Max.

"Hey."

She looks at you and Lizzie.

"Hey. Who's this?" Max asks.

"Lizzie. She's the new kid i said was comin today." You say.

Max nods. They shake hands. And just like that, she hardly sees you all day. For 4 days solid actually. You're just getting Lizzie used to the building. You even help her make some friends.

You're currently waiting for Lizzie to come out of class when you spot Max. She's stood looking at you. Something in her eyes. You cant quite make it out. You decide to go over to her.

"Hey." You say.

"You finally wanna talk to me now huh." She sasses.

You frown.

"I always wanna talk to you what are you on about?" You ask.

"Oh please. You've been with your girlfriend the last 4 days dont try bulshitting me." She says.

"Whoa hey what are you talking about?" You ask.

"Dont try acting stupid you know what i mean. I dont wanna know Y/n. Just go away." She says.

She walks off.

"Max wait." You say.

You walk after her.

"Max dont ignore me." You say.

"Or what?" Max says.

"Max c'mon this is ridiculous." You say.

She ignores you.

"Max i dont understand why you're so upset." You say.

She stops abruptly and turns to you. You have to stop pretty quickly to avoid bumping into her.

"You wanna know what my issue is?" She says.

"Yeah please." You say.

"Because i like you. I'm literally in love with you and you haven't fucking noticed at all. And not to mention, we've gone from hanging out every day to not at all in the space of 25 minutes because of a new kid. And it's pissing me off. I hate it. Because i like you so much and you haven't spoken to me in 4 days. 4 whole days. The last time we spoke was Monday. Now it's Friday. And I'm jealous. I mean why does she get all of your time just because she's new? It's not fair Y/n. I get that she's new but you gotta split your time." Max says.

"Yeah. Yeah you're totally right. I should split my time. And I'm sorry i haven't but, she's not my girlfriend. I like you too. I'm sorry i haven't been spending as much time with you as i should be lately. All i can say is that i just wanted the new kid to settle in right. But i dont like her like that. I like you. And i wanna be with you. Just you. Nobody else." You say.

She goes a little red and smiles. She bites her lip a little and looks away from you.

"If you like me, do you wanna be my girlfriend?" You ask.

She looks up at you, making direct eye contact. She nods.

"Yeah. Yeah I'd like that?" Max says.

You smile. She smiles. You pull her into a hug. She hug back and lays her head on your chest. You both spend the rest of the day and the whole weekend together. Thank god she didn't get mean on that Friday.
