The aftermath

You're layed in bed facing a picture your sister took of you and Max together almost 2 months ago. Your eyes tear up. You turn away from it, pull the covers right up to your face and cry. You miss her so much. It's been 5 weeks since you two broke up. She seems to have gotten over it within 2 weeks and left you in the dust.

Your sister walks into your room and lays next to you in your bed.

"Y/n, hun, you need to eat." She says.

You ignore her.

"Y/n please."

You ignore her again. She lets out a soft sigh and nods.

"If you want some food, please get some." She says.

She leaves. While you manage to calm yourself, your walkie goes off. You stand up and go answer it.

"Mike."

"Y/n! We're goin to the arcade and want you to come with us. We got a high score to beat and you always do it!" Mike exclaims.

"Is Max goin?" You ask.

"....... no......"

"Promise me Mike." You say.

"...... yeah she's coming. I'm sorry i lied to you but we miss you so much. It's been weeks since you've come to school. It's been weeks since you came and hung out with us." Mike says.

"I know a-and I'm sorry but i cant be around her Mike." You say.

"If you think she's over you Y/n, she's not. She seems that way but she's not. Not at all. You two need to be around each other to get over each other." Mike says.

You bite your lip and take a deep breath.

"Are....are you guys going now? Do i have enough time to shower?" You ask.

"You have enough time. We're goin now but you do have enough time."

".... okay I'll be there soon. Over and out."

You put your walkie down and for the first time in a while, you leave your room. You go shower and brush your teeth. You dry your short curley hair off and go change into some comfy clothes. You go downstairs.

"Y/n?" Your sister asks.

You look at her and smile a little.

"Hey." You say.

She hugs you. You hug back. She pulls back and smiles at you.

"Hey. You okay?" She asks.

"Yeah. Just gunna go out and hang with the group. Figured i should get out the house." You say.

"That's good. I'm glad you're getting out to see the others. Is..... is Max gunna be there?" She asks.

You nod.

"Yeah. I just need to get used to be around her. I'm just gunna get a drink before i go." You say.

She nods. When you get to the arcade, you and Max lock eyes. And you freeze in your spot. You take a deep breath and go over. You smile.

"Hey." You breathe out.

"Hey." Max says.

"You didn't happen to see Mike and them lot on your way did you?" You ask.

"No i was just gunna ask you the same question." Max says.

You shake your head.

"Should we just go in and wait for them?" You ask.
