Winter ball

You're at this dance thing with your friends. You're just stood against a wall with your walkie talking to you best friend from across the hall.

"Apparently that Max kid wanted to go with you. Over." Will says.

"That new kid? The one i said was really pretty that one time? Over." You say.

"Yeah that's- dude she's here."

"What?"

"Hey."

You turn and see Max.

"Will she's here."

"Dont be an idiot. Talk to her. Over and out." Will says.

"And just like that, he's gone."

"So.. did you hear the rumours?" Max asks.

"Huh? Sorry what?"

You turn back to her.

"Did someone tell you that i wanted to go to the dance with you?" Max asks.

You nod. She smiles a little. Then it hits you.

"Oh oh."

You hold out your hand.

"May i have this dance?" You ask.

Her smile widens and she nods. She takes your hand and you both go onto the dance floor thing. She wraps her arms around your neck and you wrap yours around her waist. You both just sway a little.

The music slowly builds up. You both just keep swaying. You're avoiding looking at her. When you finally do, she goes bright red upon making direct eye contact with you. You smile a little.

"Your face looks like your hair." You say.

"That's mean." She shas.

"But it does." You say.

She just laughs a little bit. While you sway, you smile at her. She smiles back. Then, after about 15 minutes of just swaying to slow dance songs, she finally has enough confidence built up to do what she's been wanting to do for weeks now.

She kisses you. It's just quick. Not even enough time for you to think. She stands worried for a minute. You place a kiss on her lips just as she did not even a minute ago. It's almost identical to her kiss.

"Does that mean-"

"That i like you back? Yes it does." You say.

She goes red. Then she really kisses you. You kiss back and she stands a lot closer to you. Like literally centimetres away from you. She pulls back from the kiss first and just lays her head sideways on your shoulder.

"I liked that. That was nice." She says.

"I couldn't agree more." You say.

Who would've thought? Max Mayfield likes you. Perfect start to a not so perfect story.
