You're at Sadie's wedding. You're one of the bridesmaids. You're Sadie's best friend but you're literally head over heels for her. You have been since you were 14. When you finally built up the courage to tell her, you were 19. And you were so ready. But before you could tell her, she told you she has a girlfriend. And your heart shattered into a million pieces.
A year and a half later, they were engaged. It's been 3 years since they got together. You're 21, almost 22. Sadie is 22.
But you're happy for her.
"Y/n what if she's not gunna be here?" Sadie asks.
"Who in their right mind would walk out on you?" You say.
"Maybe she's changed her mind." Sadie says.
"Sadie you're absolutely amazing. And nobody in their right mind would leave you up there on your own." You say.
"You promise?" Sadie asks.
"Pinkie promise." You say.
You pull her into a hug. She hugs back.
"I'm gunna go take my place out there. You got this. You'll be married in no time." You say.
"Thank you for being there for me." She says.
"You're my best friend and i love you. I'm always gunna be there for you." You say.
"I love you too Y/n/n." She says.
You place a kiss on the side of her head and pull back from the hug.
"You got this. Be the bad bitch you are and walk your ass out there and get your ass married." You say.
She smiles. You go take your place and take a deep breath. You then notice that Sadie's soon to be wife isn't here. You lean forward to Millie.
"Where is she?" You ask.
"Not a clue. She hasn't even come out." Millie says.
"If she's left Sadie I'm gunna kill her." You say.
"Trust me, we wont stop you." Noah says.
15 minutes later and Sadie is coming out. She walks out and her face sinks when she sees that her supposed to be wife isn't stood waiting for her.
"Where is she. I swear to fucking god I'm gunna go find her and hurt her." You whisper to Millie.
"Go do it. Sadie deserves better." Millie says.
Sadie walks up to the front. She looks at you.
"She'll show." You say.
Sadie nods. You stand next to her and she holds your hand. 15 minutes pass. Sadie's eyes are full of tears and they're streaming down her face. You look at her and she looks at you.
"Y-Y/n what do i do?" She asks.
"You stay here. I'm gunna go find her." You say.
You walk off and Sadie stands with Millie. Millie just puts an arm around her shoulder and Sadie puts her head on Millie's shoulder.
Then they hear this.
"I FUCKING KNEW YOU WOULD DO THIS! YOU'RE PATHETIC! WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU GET HER FUCKING HOPES UP AND LET HER DOWN ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING?! YOU'RE FUCKING PATHETIC!"
"Is that Y/n?" Sadie asks.
"Yeah." Millie says.
Then there's a silence. You walk into the room and slam the door shut. Everyone looks at you. Your nose is bleeding.
"Y/n what happened?" Sadie asks, rushing to you.
"So i found her. She was sneaking out the window in the bathroom. I yelled at her and for some God forsaken reason she swung on me. Bust my nose and left." You say.
"Where'd she go?" Sadie asks.
"Your house. She said she's packing and never coming back." You say.
Sadie's eyes well up with tears and you hug her. Sadie's mum and dad stand up. You look at them. They add to the hug.
"You can all go home." Her dad says.
Everyone except you, Sadie, Millie, Noah, Gaten, Finn and Caleb. You all stay.
"Ca-can i just have 5 minutes please?" Sadie asks.
"Yeah of course." You say.
You all go to leave.
"W-wait Y/n?"
You look at her.
"C-can you stay?" She asks.
"Yeah of course." You say.
You go to her. She sits on the steps of the altar. Everyone leaves and you sit next to her. You put an arm around her shoulder and pull her close to you. She breaks down completely into tears. You pull her into a proper hug and just soothe her as she cries her eyes out onto your shoulder.
"You're okay. You're gunna be okay." You say.
After a while, you manage to calm her down and she manages to stop crying.
"Sadie I'm so sorry this happened." You say.
"I-it's no-not your fault." Sadie says.
"I promised she'd be here and she wasn't here." You say.
"It's not your fault. I'm just glad you're here with me right now." Sadie says.
"I'm always gunna be there for you. You've always got me." You say.
She lays her head on your chest and you just gently rub her back to try to keep her calm.
"I know you like me." She says.
"Of course i like you dumby we've been best friends since we were 11." You say.
"Y/n you know what i mean." She says.
"Oh..." You say.
"And i want you to know that I'm not gunna act any different around you. I dont hate you. You're still my best friend. But i also need you to know that maybe, after some time, we could get together. I just need some time to get over her first." Sadie says.
"And i want you to know that I'll be there for you to help you get over her the best i can. As a friend." You say.
"You're the best. I dont know how you're still single. You're perfect." She says.
"Yeah us perfect bitches normally stay single cos we're too perfect to handle." You say.
She laughs a little which makes you smile.
"Want my honest answer?" You ask.
She nods.
"It's cos I've had a crush on you since i was 14." You say.
She lifts her head up.
"Why'd you never say anything?" Sadie asks.
"When you told me you and her got together, i was gunna tell you then. That's what i came to tell you." You say.
She pouts a little.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know. If I'd figured it out a little sooner i wouldn't have gotten with her." Sadie says.
"It's okay. I'm just happy you know now. But i dont wanna focus on that until you're completely over her. And i know that might take a while. I'm willing to stick by you for however long it takes for you to get over her. Because at the end of the day, you're my best friend and i gotta pull out my bestie duties and help you get over that bitch." You say.
She lets out a laugh which makes you smile.
Eventually, after a while, she's over her and you both get together. After a year and a bit, you got married and lived happily ever after.
