Chapter 16

Sawyer POV

I head to my room and go to my shower. I was annoyed with Alex because it was like she didn't trust me to not hurt Charlie. I wouldn't drop her, I would sacrifice my own body to prevent her from getting hurt. I'd never hurt Charlie.

All of the emotions of today have taken it out of me and I hop out of the shower and start to do my routine to go to bed. As I'm walking out of my bathroom, there's a knock at the door. I walk over and open it to see Alex. "Can I come in?"

I nod, "Yeah."

"Are you okay?" She studies me.

I let out a breath, "Yeah, just, I wouldn't hurt Charlie. I wouldn't. I'd sacrifice myself to save her."

She softens, "Sawyer. I know that. But I don't want either of you to get hurt, and that was a possibility. I don't think you'd ever hurt her. Okay?"

"Yeah. Okay. Did you change your mind about sleeping with you guys?"

"No, Sawyer, you're going to sleep in here. You have to be okay with it. You can't sleep with us forever. I mean you're going to be 15 soon, I think you're going to want to sleep by yourself and not lame, old us."

I smile, "You called yourself old."

She clicks her tongue, "I guess I did. Serv is older than me."

"Hey, I heard that." He pops his head in. He looks to my bed and sees my phone, smashed.

"Sawyer! What the hell happened to your phone?!" He looks wide-eyed and Alex walks over to get it.

"Uh...." Tears well up in my eyes. "Nope, no tears. What happened to it?" Alex says looking at me.

I take a deep breath, mumbling, "I threw it."

"Sawyer, you have three seconds to tell us what happened to it."

I groan, "I threw it, okay?"

"SAWYER!" They yell.

I wince. "I'm sorry? I-i saw an instagram post of Emily...and Ben. And I just lost my emotions and threw it. It shattered, as you can see."

I just look down and await the worst.

"If you lived here full time, you wouldn't be getting a new one. But we have to get you one, especially with Alex leaving on Tuesday." Serv says.

I nod, "Okay."

They walk over and give me a kiss on the head and walk to the door. "You're okay, just try to relax and sleep. If you have a nightmare, you can come get one of us." Alex says from the doorway.

I walk to my bed, look over at them and nod. They said goodnight and closed my door.

I crawl under my covers and stare at the ceiling. 'Please let me have a good night of sleep.' I fall asleep shortly after.

I wake up with a gasp. I'm hanging upside down and try to figure out where I am. I'm in a car, okay. I hear car horns and turn my head out the window to see the pavement. I turn my head and see Charlie - "CHARLIE! Wake up! Charlie!" I try to reach out to her, but can't get to hear. I start crying and look in the front, I can't see, but there's two people. No, no, no, no, no this can't be happening. "ALEX! SERV! WAKE UP! PLEASE WAKE UP! I start crying harder, CHARLIE! COME ON WAKE UP! SOMEBODY HELP! ALEX! SERV! CHARLIE!"

"SAWYER. SAWYER. WAKE UP, WAKE UP SAWYER." I feel a pinch on my ear, "OUCH!"

Alex POV

"Babe, babe. Wake up." I roll over to see Serv staring at me. "Do you hear Sawyer? She's calling for us."

My eyes widen, "Why didn't she just come in here?" I say as I pull the covers off and get out of bed. He shrugs.
