Alex POV - Thursday December 22nd
I peek into Sawyer's room and see her still passed out, hair a wild mess.
I smile and sit on the edge of her bed, then run my fingers through her hair.
She came home last night so exhausted, but so happy about snowboarding.
She whines and turns to burrow into me.
"Hey, morning baby."
"Nooooooo. I'm so sore!"
I chuckle, "What hurts?"
"Everything!" She whines.
"Auntie Jeri said you fell quite a bit at first, but then finally got it. She sent some videos."
"Falls hurt." She groans.
I nod, "There's a heating pad downstairs, that should help, but you gotta get up."
She peeks out, "Sleep."
I shake my head and rub her forehead, "You need to eat and get your meds. It's already 9."
She sighs and sits up while groaning.
I kiss her head, "Come on, I'll carry you."
She smiles and reaches out and I pick her up.
"Oof. Alright, let's go." I say.
I get to the bottom of the stairs and set her on the couch in the living room.
"Sawyer, you wake up!" Charlie yells and walks over to her.
"Let's cuddle, Charlie." Sawyer mumbles and pulls her up and under a blanket.
"Don't go back to sleep, Sawyer. Meds and food."
She yawns, "Yeah, momma."
I walk to the kitchen, "She slept in."
I turn to my mom and nod, "Snowboarding took it out of her."
"Her and Jeri. She must still be asleep too." My mom chuckles.
I start cutting some fruit, "Have you talked to Jeri? Like is she okay?"
My mom stares at me, "I think she has good and bad days honey, just like all of us."
I bob my head, "Yeah. I think I just worry more because of Sawyer and Charlie."
Just then I hear the front door open, "Morning family!"
"Morning auntie Jeri." Sawyer groans.
She walks into the kitchen and yawns, "Oof, snowboarding takes it out of me."
I finish cutting some fruit and grab a box of cereal, "Come on Sawyer, breakfast."
"And coffee for you, sis." I say and slide a cup towards her.
"You're my savior." She sighs and takes a sip.
Sawyer walks in and slumps into the chair next to her and my mom.
"Coffee, Sawyer?" My sister holds her mug up.
My eyes widen, "Absolutely not. She doesn't need that."
I watch Sawyer as she pours some cereal and yawns.
"Need some input, momma." She says after pouring some milk.
I nod, "Okay baby, just eat."
"So what's the plan today?" My mom asks.
I place my hands on the island, "Well, I think this one is going to want to have a lazy day."
