Chapter 28

Alex POV

I'm in the bathroom finishing up getting ready when I hear giggling coming from the room.

I walk out and see Sawyer and Charlie matching and Sawyer is tickling Charlie in the bed with Charlie squealing.

They both look up and smile and I snap a photo.

"Ready babies?"

They nod in sync and start running out the door to the elevator. "Slow down, please!" I yell after them.

"Momma?"

"Yes baby?"

"You gonna score 2 or 3 today?" Sawyer asks.

I laugh, "I'm not sure, they're a pretty good team baby, so I'm gonna try my best."

She nods, "Three it is."

I smile. "Glad you think so."

We get to the bus and Sawyer slides in next to me with Charlie on her lap.

We get to the field and I turn to Sawyer and Charlie, "Okay, you guys go with Kate. Sawyer, you listen to Kate. Understood? I don't want to hear that you weren't listening or using curse words. Okay? Or your phone is mine for longer. Please let her know if you're overwhelmed or feeling antsy and she can help you out or get Bree."

I see her nod, "Got it, momma. Can we come to the locker room?"

"I don't think so baby. Not this time. You guys are going up to a suite. Then you can come down after the game. Okay? Love you my babies."

She pouts and nods, "Alright."

"Let's go guys! Food and warmth await us!" Kate says.

"Thanks Kate. Get Bree if you need." I say and walk away.

I follow the team down into the locker room and start to get ready. 'Let's do this."

Sawyer POV

I follow Kate up to the suite and see a whole lot of food.

I grab a plate and start loading up on different fruits and grab a soda.

"Sawyer, no more soda." I hear Kate say.

I roll my eyes, "Whatever."

I hear her sigh and I turn my attention to the field where I see the teams coming out to warm up.

I watch as Alex warms up and she searches the suites for us. Charlie and I wave and she makes a heart with her hands, which we do back.

They run back inside and I get up to walk to the bathroom.

"Where are you going?" Kate asks.

"Bathroom?"

"Please ask, Sawyer. You can't just go." She sighs.

"Fine. Can I go to the bathroom."

"Sure, just come straight back."

"Yeah." I say.

I walk to the bathroom and decide to walk around because I'm antsy and just need to walk.

I finally find myself heading back to the suite and walk in.

"Sawyer! Where have you been?" Kate yells.

"Whoa. Chill out. I went to the bathroom and I went for a walk, was feeling antsy." I clench my fists.

Bree walks up to me. "Sawyer..you have to tell someone. You can't just leave. We're in a new city where you don't know where you are or really anyone. It's just not safe because-"
