Alex POV

I look out at the beach and then look down to see Sawyer and Charlie still asleep. "Might want to wake them up or they're not going to sleep tonight." Serv looks at me.

"I know." I sigh, "I want them to eat too."

"Sawyer. Charlie. C'mon guys, wake up." I say.

I hear a groan. "No, momma!" "Yeah, momma, leave us alone."

"Hey. No need to be mean. You guys have to get up. You can eat and go into the water again."

"Food?" Sawyer's head pops up.

"Yep. Even cut some fruit up for you." She smiles, "Whoa, you're the best, momma!"

I watch as she grabs fruit from the cooler and sits down next to me.

"So Sawyer, you like to skate?" Tobin asks her.

"Yeah, it's fun." I watch as she gets up and stretches.

"Momma, can I walk?"

"Yeah, baby, just stay in my sight."

She nods. I watch as she walks and bounces on her feet.

"I think she's getting overwhelmed a little bit, Serv. Just keep an eye on her."

He nods and stands up. "Is it something I said?" Tobin looks at me.

"I don't think so. I think it just comes on all at once. Like she met my mom and my sister then you guys and people are throwing questions at her. It's a lot for her. It's nothing you did."

She walks back to me and looks at the water then back at me, "Can I surf?"

I look out at the water and the waves are looking bigger and a bit rougher. "No, baby. Waves are looking a little too intense."

"What? I can handle them! They're like the same as earlier!" She starts to get upset.

"Baby. Deep breath, they're not the same. The wind has picked up, I don't want you out there." I say calmly.

"Bu-bu-bu-but I want to go more! You said we could go into the water more,
Momma!!" She gets louder.

"Hey Sawyer, we can go tomorrow before school, okay. The weather looks okay tomorrow if that's okay with momma." Serv says.

"That's fine with me. And Sawyer, you can swim closer to shore, just no surfing." I say.

"Sawyer! We can go swim! Can you swim with me?" Charlie squeals from next to me.

Sawyer stares at me and wipes her face. Then looks at Charlie. "Yeah Charlie, let's go."

"I'll go down and watch them." Serv says.

I watch as they walk down and take a deep breath. "Whoa." I hear Tobin say.

"So she has a temper, but she's also a teenager. You manage her well." Jeri says.

I nod, "I kind of knew it was coming. She was getting antsy. That's why she asked to walk."

"Honey, you did great. She needs boundaries, you're giving her that. I'm assuming that was much better than it normally is."

I nod, "Yeah. Bree has been helping me learn to stay calm and not get into the habit of punishing her right away, which makes things worst."

"She's a good kid. You're doing great sis." Jeri says.

"And you've got help too. We will help out if we can!" Christen looks at me.

I smile, "Thanks guys."

I watch as Sawyer and Charlie splash Serv and chase him. I can't help, but be happy.
