Alex POV

"Sawyer! Up and at 'em! Let's go! First day of sophomore year!!" I yell through the door.

I hear a groan and the door opens, "Don't wanna go!"

She looks so adorable with her bedhead and pouty face. "You are a sight for sore eyes, baby."

"It's not funny, momma! I don't want to go! School sucks!" She whines.

I sigh, "What's wrong? And enough with the sucks."

"I don't feel good." She says.

I put my hand on her head, "Hmm well no fever." I reach down and grab her hands, "You're not clammy. Describe your symptoms."

"My stomach hurts, I have a headache, and I just don't feel right." She says.

"You might just be anxious, baby. I'll give you some ibuprofen and then some input. You can jump rope or do some balance board. But need you to get ready to go." I say.

"Fiiiiiiine!" She turns and walks back into her room while closing the door.

"What happened to, 'Good morning, momma, love you momma, need a hug, momma?'" I mumble while walking to Charlie's room.

I open her door and see her pop up in her bed, "Momma!!"

"Ahh yes, my cheery baby. Good morning Charlie!" I smile.

"Morning! I go see Sawyer?" She asks.

"Let's see her at breakfast. Your sister is having a morning." I say.

"Otay momma. I wear dress today?" She asks.

"Yeah baby. You can wear a dress."

I get her dressed and we walk downstairs where I see Sawyer sitting at the island, zoning out.

"Sawyer!" Charlie squeals.

Sawyer jumps and turns to Charlie, "Morning Charlie."

"You tired?" She asks.

"Uh-huh."

I place Charlie in her chair and start getting breakfast ready.

"You want cereal, baby?"

"Uh, sure. And fruit?" Sawyer asks.

"You know there's a magic-"

"Please!" She cuts me off.

I watch as Maverick walks over to her to nudge her to pet him to which she pets him, but closes her eyes and lays her head on the island.

I cut her fruit and give her some cereal with milk, then give Charlie her food.

I turn and grab her meds and some ibuprofen to give to her. She's eating, but totally zoned out again.

"Did you sleep, baby?" I ask her.

"Uh-huh." She says.

She takes the medications and gulps them down.

I sit next to her and start giving her some joint compression, which wakes her up a little bit.

"No shower this morning?" I ask her.

She shakes her head, "Showered last night, momma."

"Okay. Go grab the balance board and set a timer."

I watch her get up and go grab and set it up then she hops on with ease and starts. I notice how different Sawyer looks even compared to nearly four months ago.

Her timer goes off and she walks over, "Need a momma hug."

"Ugh, finally. I've been waiting all morning." I say.
