Sawyer POV - Wednesday

"Okay, we're here!" Pops says.

I hop out of the car with Maverick behind me and take off.

"Sawyer!"

I keep going until I hit the door and ring the doorbell.

The door swings open and I crash into papa, "PAPA!"

"Whoa baby, hi!"

"Hi, where's auntie Jeri?" I ask, frantically searching for her.

"She's not here yet, baby. Her flight was delayed." He says carefully.

"What? Momma said she'd be here!" I start to get frustrated.

"Sawyer Anderson Carrasco!" I wince.

I turn and see momma looking less than impressed.

"You DO NOT take off. And certainly not across a street without so much as looking!"

"There weren't any cars momma!"

She stops walking, "Weren't any- Sawyer, there could have been, you didn't look!"

I groan, "You said auntie Jeri was going to be here, but she isn't!"

Momma walks closer to me, "I know you're excited, but it does not excuse what just happened. You can't put yourself in harm's way because you're excited. What do you need? Some deep pressure, you want to go for a walk? I can have pops put the swing up in papa's backyard. I know you were expecting auntie Jeri, but she's not here yet so you have to wait, you can't control delayed flights."

I just stare at her and sigh, "Can I have the swing?"

"Yeah baby, just wait for pops."

She kisses my head and I pull her in for a hug, "Sorry momma." I mumble.

"You have to stop and think baby. You're working on that at school, yeah?"

I nod against her, "Yeah."

I walk through papa's house and go to the backyard.

"Sawyer, we kick?" I turn around and see Charlie.

I sigh, "Yeah, let's kick a little."

We pass back and forth and I see pops bring the swing out and hook it up on a tree branch.

"Alright baby, it's ready for you." He says.

"Charlie, wanna hang with me in the swing?"

She smiles and nods. I scoop her up and head to the swing.

I get in and Charlie cuddles into my chest, while playing with my parent's rings.

"What are these, Sawyer?" She asks.

I sigh, "They're rings. You know how momma and dada have rings on their fingers?"

She looks at me and nods, "Momma have a big ring!"

I chuckle, "Yeah she does. So these ones were my parents."

"They don't wear them anymore?"
She asks.

I shake my head, "No Charlie. They're in the sky, remember? So now I have these so I don't forget them."

She stares at me, "Oh. You miss them?"

"Yeah, I do, Charlie." I squeeze her and I feel tears fall down my face.

She wipes my eyes, "Don't cry Sawyer, you want a lollipop? Papa always has lollipops, make you feel better!"
